I still like the movie deluxe toy, however. Sometimes, those that don't actually appear in the movie tend to have cooler toys.

 

Yeah, he were supposed to be in the movie. His concept art was drawn even the scene he was supposed to be in was drawn too

Well...Slash would have matched up with Hound, so John Goodman must have took a personally stance against putting a fat guy on a tiny donkey.

Back to OP... because they couldn't fit him in. Same goes for Slog, which would be nice since he'd fill out the G1 team. Course... it's funny that this is the second time he's left out... See Fall of Cyberton where he's presumably dead... =(

 

Ha ha, yea I sometimes wonder if someone at Hasbro just hates him that badly but would put in a tease like on Animated just to mess with us.

Back to the topic it's possible some things got cut because it wouldn't fit the budget or it's possible with all the other CGI shots in the film they just didn't have time to work it in and still have the film out on time.

 

Off topic, but I really wish Scorn only had one sail like his concept art and toy. It's cooler, in my opinion.

 

I wanted to see that. I think it would have been funny. Hound struggles to fit onto a Slash, they are like f*ck it, Hound transforms into vehicle mode and then a few Slashes ride Hound.

Ok, so the real reason must be money because it always is about that cheddar. By the looks of it having an extra Dinobot on screen would have been awesome, especially with their angry transformations.

The only problem is how expensive was it to have only four Dinobots transform simultaneously? How about one more?

The Dinobots were the big show in this movie but like Devastator and the Constructicons it's just expensive.

There are only 4 Dinobots in the film. You didn't miss him. Strafe, Grimlock, Scorn and Slug.

Slash was never cut from the film and he's also not going to be in the deleted scenes. There was only a concept for him but just like a majority of most pre-conceptualiztion, it doesn't get used.

Saying the Slash was cut from the film is like saying Wreckage was cut from the first film. He's just made as toy.

 

Well they did say that this was the most work ILM ever had to do for a movie. Maybe they couldnt get him finished in time and just cut him out.

 

Well... not quite.

In the early stages of concept art for the first movie, there was a Transformer who turned into a Stryker. As we know, that wasn't in the final version, but the concept art later inspired Wreckage.

In the same way, hordes of velociraptor Dinobots are seen in concept art for AOE... but they aren't in the movie.

I wouldn't go as far to say they were "cut" but both were ideas that were obviously considered seriously and then were decided against.

 

After seeing the concept art of the pack of Slash's, how many of you guys bought more of him?

 

its possible slash was never in the film, just a filler for the toyline

 

It would have been funny to see hound being carried by Slashes under each foot.

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A THING.

 

The movie was bloated with robots and the Dinobots were tacked on enough as it were. I'm not heartbroken that there weren't more of them to not talk or take screen time away from the real characters like the Autobots.
