Then they should have kept him alive for the next movie... same with Arcee... there could be so many amazing characters, but sadly the movies just keep switching them (Probably so Hasbro can release new movie toys all the time) so we never really get to know them. This is one thing the TV Shows will always do better, because we can actually bond and get to know and care about the characters. Don't get me wrong though, I love the transformers in the movies, I just wish we could get to know them all more and not just die after having a tiny bit of screentime, that's just a waste.

 

Bay has said that if we didn't see it happen in his movie, then it didn't happen. We didn't see Jolt, Chromia,Mudflap or Skids die in the previous films. This is why some believe they're all off planet someplace. I believe wherever they are, is where Swipe headed to, off planet.

 

If that's the case then;
Swipe (with Dino assisting) is looking for Sunstreaker
Mudflap and Skids are pratting about somewhere
Chromia, Jolt, Topspin and Roadbuster are searching for Ultra Magnus

Pretty cool. After AoE, I wanna see an all Ratchet's scenes video. Shame Sideswipe didn't get much screentime but with so many bots in RotF and DotM it was tough for anyone not named Optimus or Bumblebee to get any screentime.

I would love to see an exact calculation of who got the most screentime in terms of all 4 movies put together but by rough estimate I would guess

I had that kind of headcanon happening with Sideswipe leaving Earth to find Sunny.

 

His card was seen without the red x. Hence, he's still alive.

Yeah, movie Sideswipe is just like G1 cartoon Sideswipe, in that he never actually did anything much other than seem kind of cool in a couple of scenes.

Eh, I've just never really understood the Sideswipe hype, G1, movie or otherwise. He's always just been 'that sports car guy' to me. His movie design is cool and creative, though, I'll give him that.

If you asked me to pick a favourite movie Transformer, I'd probably say Ironhide, since he's got a fun personality and a fair few cool/memorable moments to his name.

 

I never liked the movie habit of killing off a character with potential. I mean, imagine what they could have done with Shockwave. Instead we barely get to know him. Mainstream audiences probably think of him as the guy who looks after Megatron's pet Driller.

If Hasbro wants to sell new toys, all they need is for the character to scan a new alt-form. Instant new toy.

It would be nice to have Sideswipe back in TF5, though. Team him up with Drift and you've got quite a deadly sword-bot duo.

 

Sideswipe may return in TF5?

Crosshairs "where the hell have you been?"

Sideswipe "i went on a mission"

Drift "what mission?"

Sideswipe "a mission for hope...."

*Ultra Magnus comes in with a dramatic walk with Red Alert, Sunstreaker, and Dino*

Hound "now we definitely can't lose!"

 

This is exactly why the Autobots in ROTF and DOTM sucked.

Sideswipe has all these fans, but in reality every single scene he's been in combined in two movies (both over two hours long) was six minutes, with two lines. Nearly every single one of his seconds on-screen he's either A. In the background of group shots doing absolutely nothing of even slight importance or B. in car mode driving around next to the other Autobots. Forgive me when I really don't care that he got killed off off-screen in AOE, because he literally did nothing worthwhile beforehand so his absence changed absolutely nothing about the movie. His toys were far more interesting then he ever was in the movies, where he was just a total waste of a cool design.

I don't understand why people won't get it. sideswipe, dino, etc... they are all dead or missing. it is heavily implied that most of them have been killed and/or apprehended. besides, most of them are too small of a character to return. they want to make new robots, new toys.
