Yeah, and then everyone whines, bitches, and moans that they "ruined Unicron" because "HE'S A GOD, NOT A WMD CREATED BY ALIENS" and because "HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE PLANET-SIZED, HE'S WAY TOO SMALL". On top of all that, they'd blame Michael Bay for it.

There's literally no pleasing this fanbase... like, at all.

What part of Age of Extinction actually made sense anyway? :D

Our reaction after we saw it: it is like watching a 3-hour-long trailer: a whole bunch of random scenes that don't make sense been put together.

Bay specializes in movies that are "so freaking stupid they're unbelievable." Where have you been these last few years. Every time we get another one of these debacles it just makes me so sad to think what could have been.

My God. Everyone sounds like such spoiled brats on here. As a huge Transformers fan, you know what I like? For the series to be popular and culturally relevant, so that we keep getting cool stuff, like Transformers: Animated and War for Cybertron. And guess what these movies do? Just that. They keep the brand alive and the demand for it, as a whole, high.

These movies are far from perfect. And you are totally within your rights to not care for them. But, you should at least appreciate them. Everyone needs to keep things in perspective, and look at the bigger picture here.

These movies are good for the franchise, and basically saved it from falling into obscurity. And, while they have the potential to be WAY better, I'm willing to turn off my brain and accept them for what they are, until that day comes. 'Cause, honestly, I can be content with and entertained by massive, well-animated spectacle, at the very least.

I'll gladly accept these movies getting cranked out every two or three years, if it means Transformers, as a whole, keeps running strong.

All this kruger hate... Do you know some writer and director than can perform better than him and Bay? Tell Paramount about it.

As for Unicron, don't put him in the movies... Yet.
If they can't pull-off an Planetary Size Unicron, they could consider the following:
    - Mountain Range Unicron (like in TF Prime) = but that will make Earth danger again.
    - Moon-Sized Unicron = the problem is being a moon he's stuck in orbit.
    - Huge Asteroid Unicron = Not a bad disguise. Why not?

As for TF5, i wish they can introduce Targetmasters & Headmasters TF. Hasbro finally did Targetmasters toys via MP Rodimus, TF Generations legends, TF Classics Cyclonus. And now they finally nailed Headmasters toys via TF Generations Brainstorm.

As for TF6 if they want to end it. It should end like Autobots & Decepticons are allies to beat a common foe. Maybe Unicron and the Galvatron will have a line like in G1 episode Return Of OP part 2 saying "There will be no war today, Optimus. You have earned Galvatron's respect," and called a brief truce.

But for TF5, Optimus leave Earth in search of the creators. He left Autobots to chase Galvatron that is still on Earth. Who'll lead the autobots? Is Ultra Magnus or Rodimus Prime now a possibility?

Kruger killed off several of the main Decepticons, couldn't even properly write a dinobot intro or reference them.

Maybe he'll write a planet on a collision course with Earth, call it Nibiru, and let us assume that's supposed to be Unicron

Uh, in the G1 cartoon Unicron WAS a creation... by Primacron.

Honestly, when I saw the organic hand in the beginning of AoE, I thought that may have been what they were going for- a race of primacrons

    Bay: God, more hate mails?
Kruger: Lemme guess, it's all about you?
Bay: How come you never get one?
Kruger: It's because they don't care about me anyways.

"a hate mail about Kruger later"

    Kruger: f**k.

And yet you guys keep flaming Bay.

Yeah Kruger needs to go. I've always found it amusing how disliking something/someone and explaining why translates into "hating". As if that's blasphemous :lol . I don't see anyone unnecessarily bashing Kruger...but let's be real here, the movies took a nose dive in writing since he came on board. AOE, in my opinion, was the best of the sequels (all of which he was apart of), but that took 3 movies to accomplish.

As far as Unicron goes...please no. God no. I don't understand why people want Unicron. He's been done to death and whenever I hear mentions of a live action Unicron, all thoughts point to Galactus from Rise of the Silver Surfer. Quintessons? Sure. Unicron? No. And while all these proposed alterations of Unicron sound cool, I think part of Unicron's appeal is how massive he is (size, power, god-like, etc). Scaling him down would be a must for the movie aesthetic, but doing so would be a disservice to the idea of Unicron being a chaos god.

But first, we need a new writer. Three movies in and while I liked AOE...it's time for a change in the guard. I'd like a Transformers movie where the last hour doesn't drag out so much.

You guys need to realize that Kruger writes these things along with Michael Bay, and the very first thing they do is conceptualize the action sequences.

'Transformers: Age of Extinction' Writer Ehren Kruger: "Logical Sense Doesn't Have to Be the Be-All, End-All" - /Film

Writing for Michael is very — he’s a very sensory director, and sometimes an “overload” director. He’s someone who is always looking to top himself, certainly from an action perspective and a stylistic perspective. So very early on we’re throwing ideas back and forth. We talk about sequences and visuals and moments. Whereas in some other films, or “ordinary” films, you might be very slavish to story and narrative first, and logical sense above all. When you’re talking about aliens, robotic machines which disguise themselves as vehicles and animals, you start to make your peace with the idea that logical sense doesn’t have to be the be-all, end-all. It needs to be amazing fun for the audience. They need to be swept up, and be promised that they’re going to see things that make it worth spending money on a ticket.

Funny enough, Bay is as much to blame for the meh writing as the writers are, since his style of doing things makes it harder to write a cohesive narrative. That said, I think Kruger is doing a good job given the limitations he's given. He's obviously well-versed in the Transformers mythos, and it really shows in Age of Extinction.

For the people who are bashing Kruger about what he said about Unicron are you even aware that he never said doing Unicron is impossible to do in live action and what he was really trying to say is that he wants to find a good moment and reason to bring him in? After all Unicron is considered to be the satanic deity of the lore and if you're going to bring him into something like the movie you need to make sure it's both impressive and stays true to the character otherwise you'd be left with something akin to a cloud Galactus in Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Well if they ever do Unicron, they better bring him in early on in TF5, if he emerged in TF6, it'll feel like a last minute thought since as much as to go into explaining Unicron and his motives. We already ready know what happened with the Dinobots...

    This.^

I am also not a fan of Kruger, but I agree that Unicron will be just too big. I mean in DOTM they had problems creating CGI 'Driller' (Shockwave's pet). I was watching behind the scenes footage of the making of DOTM, and they said the technology that creates CGI images crashed multiple times when they were creating 'Driller'. It was also the first ever movie to make all their systems crash. Anyway, in my opinion, if Bay wants Unicron, they need to go the route Transformers Prime did.

Complete nonsense. There are few films dumber than the last 3 TF films in any genre, let alone Sci-Fi. Generic excuses aren't going to fly after the 3rd terrible film.

As for Nolan, you might be interested to see Interstellar when it comes out.

Ultimately the Unicron discussion is completely moot - as is any character discussion when it comes to the TF films. It ought to be very clear by now, the "characters" in the films are not at all the namesakes, nor are they interesting in the least unless you love cliches and stereotypes and every asian person you've ever met eats rice and every black person plays basketball etc etc. That is the characterization we are left with.

To say that they would not only not do a faithful rendition of Unicron, but also a rendition that is much worse than anything most of us could write today in a couple of hours, is absolutely assumed with reason and precedent.

    i agree,

personally i don't see why bay has not had unicron in the movies yet...then he would have the fun of figuring out how to make unicron die via the largest explosion EVER MADE ON THE SCREEN.

Easy way of doing things... After the battle with the creators (tf5) prime comes back to earth for some much needed r&r. Somehow, during tf5, galvatron comes in contact with a few seeds, and in a remote part of earth, (under the ocean) he detonates the seed, creating a massive amount of transformium, and is building a new army... Unknown to him, the massive amounts of transformium in megatron's underwater fortress called Trypticon, attract unicron as a large predator who sees transformium as a vitamin... So unicron is heading for earth. Autobots, no longer welcomed in the USA but loved by the world, are given sanctuary. They build metroplex, and help the world by new forms of energy production. The last of the autobots from space have arrived, so the autobots include: prime, hound, rodimus, bumblebee, prowl, elita-1, a few others, and the dinobots.

Galvatron has visions of unicron's approach. He sees unicron not as a foe, but a kindred spirit. He and his new warriors cyclonus, skywarp, bombshell, and Menasor head out to communicate. Unicron is curious about these decepticons, and by reading galvatron's memories, learns of the matrix, sends galvatron to destroy it. Galvatron thinks that because he vaporized prime, the matrix is gone too... However, as rodimus sits there with the ashes of his mentor, the matrix coalesces before him and upgrades him to Rodimus Prime. He learns of unicron from the matrix as the ultimate fail safe should the creators lose control... He and the autobots must rally not only the dinobots, but the decepticons and humans to battle this ultimate foe. A psychotic galvatron is excommunicated from the decepticon ranks, and flees, and the decepticons join the autobots. Unicron unleashes a horde of drones that dissolve everything in their path, working as saliva for the monster, and metroplex, trypticon, and the cybertronian forces help defend earth. Meanwhile, rodimus takes a strike team to the heart of unicron where he battles galvatron (who still believes unicron is his ticket to god hood). Rodimus prime kills galvatron, grimlock and the surviving dinobots destroy the drone factory, and rodimus shoves the matrix into the spark of unicron. The light and power transforms him from a planet-devouring beast into a New Cyberton, taking it's place within our solar system, and a new age of prosperity begins for the cybertronians and their partners on earth...
