I saw the movie again and realising that only Galvatron will probably only have it in the next movie makes me happy.
I am not a fan of it either but when galvatron first transformed I really liked it... and another thing that I liked was the vehicle rescans... bumblebee not really but optimus... loved it!
Here's something I wanted to point out, and I felt this was the best place for it. I don't consider the KSI-bots, Stinger, Galvatron, the Vehicons, any of them, REAL Cybertronians or Transformers. None of them are the same species as Optimus. Half because of their transformations, and the other half is because they seem to lack the same biology as real Cybertronians. They have no sparks. To real Cybertronians, they're like demons. Just straight up WRONG creatures. That's how I imagine it, and I love it. I love the idea of Galvatron being a monster in more than just morality. He's literally something that shouldn't exist.
The movie makes it pretty clear that the Vehicons and Galvatron are not real Transformers. Though Galvatron's, like you said, a "demon" of sorts because he's an unatural creature with the mind of a real Cybertronian. It's like putting a brain in a robot body. I mean hell, they're all soundly beaten by the "real deals." It's the ancient, pure-as-they-come Cybertronians who destroy the majority of the Vehicons, with the "half-breed" the only one to escape because he's actually driven by a real Transformer's mind. It makes perfect sense in the film why they transform like they do. It's the divide between real and fake.
From what I gather from the forum discussion (I haven't seen the movie yet), the KSI Bots have all of the intelligence and cunning of a normal Transformer, but without the defining Spark. In Terminator-like situations where machines want to wipe out the organics, they generally bare no malice toward them despite their ruthlessness. These KSI Bots sound just as ruthless, but can feel hate. That's a whole other level.
I agree with you 100% but if I was Galvatron, I wouldn't want to change that, lol. You can transform and practically teleport.
I liked the transformations because they were a really cool effect, but I wanted to see more done with them, like the KSI-bots using their particle-shifting powers to dodge attacks. Also, it doesn't make sense why they have car parts on them. Maybe the designs were done before the concept of the Transformium was brought into account, and they were going to have more standard Transformations?
Didn't Galvatron dodge attacks with it? I think most of the Vehicons, Stinger included, weren't smart enough to think about using their transformations as a dodge technique. I hope in the 5th movie, Galvatron further weaponizes his transformation, turning into a stream of cubes and flying around, slipping through attacks and the such.
He did, and Bumblebee was all O_O afterwards. Also, when Galvatron transformed once, it's worth noting at leats one of his wheels didn't break down during transformation and just floated into his body. I think the visible car parts on the vehicons is for the same exact reason they exist in real life: visual interest. KSI was marketting these things, and they wanted them to look like Transformers.
Galvatron I can vaguely remember doing so, but nobody else did. One thing I love about the TF movies is transformations and transforming are done in a very creative way and look really cool and dynamic, even the sort of "cheap" transformation of dividing into little cubes and reforming. I can see Galvatron really utilizing his transformation to catch enemies off guard, dodge attacks, etc. It's a power that I don't think any other Transformer has ever had in the history of the brand.
It was cool because it showed that humans really had no idea how to make a Transformer, but they got duped by him into a better Transformation that can dodge attacks if hes smart. The others just werent clever enough to use the transformation as a way to dodge
I liked the KSI Drone transformations. They're artificial, soulless Transformers. So, giving them a very digital-looking, inorganic way of transforming was a very cool decision, in my opinion.
I think my biggest problem with it was that it could fly. There is no reason as to why it should/could be able to do so. Other than the "it looks cool" factor. I would have preferred if it crawled around or something or had at least one area grounded. Heck, they could have made it jump around or something. Otherwise, I didn't mind it. But I do prefer regular transformations.
