My wallet is the only thing stopping me from buying the coneheads as well. Time to sell some stuff on ebay. LOL

Picked up thunder wrath yesterday and I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality of it. The plastic is pretty good... Almost as good as MMC stuff. The transformation is familiar and intuitive. Some of the joints are a bit tricky to get together but it's not that problematic.

The only issues I have are...

I wish the shoulder holster for the null ray would rotate freely all around the arm. It kinda gets in the way as it is.

I also wish I could get the other ones now but they seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Hopefully I can post some photos later on. It should be great for posing for photos.

Having skywarp I can attest to how good these figures are. These are sleepers. Everyone was waiting for reviews and now they are selling out everywhere. These are gonna be real hard to get. Bet the cone heads will be the same way. Glad my buddy Dr. K helped me out or I would have missed out also.

As much as im probably shooting myself in the foot for asking this, could anyone either put up a vid review or some images of the coneheads in their possession. Nearly ready to pull the trigger on these and just need some assurance. Thanks Guys :)

Kinda surprised there aren't any Conehead reviews yet.

    Hopefully soon.

My main collection focus has always been Skywarp and Thundercracker. There's a lot of reasons why I've gone that route that I won't get into here, but suffice to say I've spent many years building that collection, and if there's a pair of toys released that resemble Skywarp and Thundercracker, I'm usually first in line.

Lately it seems as though I've been more of a Masterpiece collector, so it's very nice to finally have another Skywarp and Thundercracker to add to the collection. It's been a while and it's been worth the wait.

Thanks to the PP-03 Masterpiece jets, the PP-05 vans, and playing with various other figures, I know what iGear is capable of and I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. I'm happy to say that they have met or exceeded what I was expecting. I had the first trio preordered as soon as the orders went up, it was so early that TF Source had to modify the original invoice they sent me :D

Where they meet or exceed expectations: Plastic quality, paint finish, and the overall fit are exactly what I wanted. I know some people have complained that iGear's MP jets had bad plastic, and I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell they mean. They may not have compared to MP-6 and MP-7, but I thought they were comparable to Hasbro's releases and they were fine. There are a few areas where they might have added some paint detail, but overall there aren't any places that are sorely lacking like you see on today's retail releases. The paint details that we do have are sharp and well-placed. Overall fit is good, everything has a tab or a peg that is supposed to go somewhere. You will find places where tabbing something in causes something else to pop out, it will take a while before you figure out how to get everything to lock in. Once you get it figured out, the end result is fantastic. Jet mode is very solid.

Robot mode is insanely articulated. The double elbows and ball-jointed wrists combined with shoulders that can move in every direction make the arms incredibly expressive. They can even fold their arms across their chests, which is an awesome "background seeker" pose. The fact that the cannon mounts rotate almost all the way around the arm is great too, you don't have to worry about cannons getting in the way as much. There's a waist swivel, which is always welcome. The neck ball joint and head design allow them to look up almost 90 degrees. Sadly they can't look down very much, but overall having a ball joint on the neck is always a huge plus. The double jointed knees are awesome too - not just because it lets the knees fold like human knees do, but the joint is very elegantly designed - it isn't obvious from looking at it that it's a double hinge. Double hinge joints can sometimes look very goofy when they're completely straight, but not here. Seriously, go look at it again close up, the knee design is very pretty.

I like the second head inclusion. Skywarp has a frowny face and a smirking face, Thundercracker has the frown and a yelling face. I haven't opened Starscream yet.

Of course there are always criticisms, and I do have a couple of nitpicks. I think a very valid nitpick is that the jet mode has a bit of a swayback when viewed from the side. The nose and the tail seem to curve up a bit. It might be because of the fact that everything has a place to peg or tab into, and maybe the arms aren't folded to millimeter-precision or the legs have to be perfectly straight. It may settle out or I may figure out better ways to transform them to keep that from happening, but it can lead to a negative first impression with some people. There are a few other nitpicks that may be my own personal problems that might not bother other people: The Sidewinder-type missiles are just a solid color, definitely an afterthought that wasn't necessary. The flight stand is cool but the way it mounts to the figure is terrible. If you don't mess with Tamashii Stage stands then it might not bother you. I was never bothered by the size of the arms or the legs, I didn't seem to share the opinion that the arms were too small or the legs too big. I think they're fine.

The last nitpick is entirely personal and probably won't bother anyone else, but I really don't like the hands, I have never liked the half-open style hands. I almost would have preferred closed fists, but with the rest of the arms having so much articulation it would have been cool to have semi-articulated hands, even if they were the simple MP-12/17 style hands. I might fix that myself.

Overall, if you even think that you'll like them, then they won't disappoint you. Prior to this new Masterpiece era I probably would have picked up all 6 seekers just for fun, but other interests have put the squeeze on space and budget, so I'll stick with just these two like I have for most SW & TC releases.

Well I have managed to crack off a couple of shots but this figure really deserves some quality time in the studio. I am going crazy trying to find the others now. I have managed to get a Skywarp but the rest are rarer than rocking horse poo :(

Just an update from Brandon at TCP, he confirmed his order of Raptors have been stuck in customs for two days now, so we don't know when he will get them right now :(

For anyone still looking for Star Burst, Toy Dojo still has him in stock & ready to ship, as well as all the other seekers, too:

I was only gonna get the Coneheads, but figured I'd try out the mold first on one figure.

A word of warning - be very very careful when inserting the flight stand into the holes in the legs of this figure. Mine was rather tight and caused stress marks and a couple of hairline cracks in the plastic :(

That being said, these are very cool figures :)

I'm gonna shave down the pegs on the stand a little before using because I noticed they were tight too.

Thank you for sharing the warning, I will be sure to take it slow, and if it is that tight, then shave it down. You guys rock for sharing these issues so others can benefit and not damage their own, esp for how expensive these are (but fair priced for 3rd party stuff of this awesomeness). Cheers!:rock

Further thoughts on these guys now that I have messed with them more:

    1. One frequent complaint about the MP seekers is the fact that the bot mode torso doesn't stay together very well. These guys have nailed it. Everything locks together quite well. The shoulders can sometimes cause the chest plate to come untabbed, but overall this is so much nicer than the MP torsos, and I'm probably one of the biggest fans of the MP mold. The little flaps that fold into the sides of the waist are a nice touch.

    2. The landing gear really should have been done differently, or at least painted the same color as the shin plate. The blue on Thundercracker sticks out a little too much, I might have to paint them. Skywarp's landing gear are a little less jarring, but still it would have been nice to have them hidden better.

    3. Before these were released, there were lots of complaints about the faces. I haven't compared them to the original pics, but the final product is just awesome. Forget about being able to change faces. That's nice, but every one of them is cool. I really really love the heads on these guys.

Do you guys think that Generations leader megaton will fit in with these guys (atheistically)? Or are they too different?
