I hated the "upgraded" transformation. I just don't get how an unstable molecule obeys normal physics in one form, but in transition it has anti-gravity and self-locomotive properties. I think the Earthformers should have a unique transformation scheme, but what they chose was ******ed.

Science fiction... Trying to find logic within it is useless.

    This ^

If they are going to make rules for the universe they are creating they should obey them.

But they established that the stuff was capable of doing this.

No, not really. They explain that "transformium" is programmable, to be able to change shape and color.

It doesn't explain in anyway how the metal can become cubes, separate, fly around in a controlled tornado, then reform.

They explain that the metal itself morphs like Beast Machines, not fly around in magic tornadoes, which, yes, was a cost controlling decision.

as long as they don't have every TF doing it in the next one.

Exactly! A base set logical rules is necessary for good science fiction

    No they didn't.

The discovery of programmable material would be HUGE (we're just beginning to scratch the surface of such studies with self-healing polymers and memory retaining metals). It would revolutionize every industry on the planet. I think the movie did a great job of showing that potential. However the properties displayed during the transition state (anti-grav, self-propulsion, breaking and reforming molecular bonds without endo- or exothermic reactions) would revolutionize our very understanding of physics and how the universe works. Of the two technological discoveries the latter one would be far far more important.

so, if people dont like something, it is CRAP, right?
as stated before, they have specific vehicle and bot modes
    but they are NOT cybertronians
if i were a scientific doing a MASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS production transforming drone, i would just find the cheapest way to go from mode one to mode two, or i could spend months, figuring out a REAL transformation for said drone, expending all the money and time the GOVERMENT is investing, to get what, maybe two or three single units to work
as someone said, they practically move their parts as a human move theirs(LOL that sounded WRONG) by themselves, these are DRONES for primus sake, even create a software that moves a robot costs a lot of effort, then who knows how much would to creat moving parts, that every single one goes where it is intended, THEN that it moves quick and precisely, then the whole car mode functions , then the HUMANoid movement, why not just, two presets(as someone said before) then just KRE-O from mode to mode and problem solved
you guy gotta put LOGIC, oh primus, where is shockwave when we need him...DONT ANSWER, i know he is in the scrapyard

Did they? They seemed focused on the smaller of the two discoveries. To me it seems they were given the keys to to make fire or to make stars; they chose to make fire.

No. It's only crap if it doesn't make sense.

No. It was a budget choice. They wanted to get a bunch of bots in the movie without doing too much character modeling. It isn't like this movie wasn't made to sell toys. I think they are called transformers and maybe they transform or something. Sometimes they make shows and movies featuring the characters and how they transform so that the kiddies will beg their parental units to purchase the toys. Nah, that's just silly. It would be more creative to have some flying cubes and wire frames. The transmorphing was awful.

I don't think it was bad it was far upgraded from the originals and gave them better capabilities, it did seem like after Galvatron left them forgot the could do it though.

I was in 3-d animation and the last time I checked it's a lot harder and time consuming to make fancy particles that fly around than moving solid rigged objects.

I really doubt there's going to be a toy for Two Headed Shockwave.

    ....Although I'd buy it.

Besides, a LOT of the KSI bots' robot modes cheat. Personally, I'd rather they transform this way than the standard.

If they transformed standardly, it would have had to cheat like crazy.

At least they have an excuse now, and a DAMN good looking one.
