And Slash, Slog, and Snarl appeared as Dinobots, but they're not in the movies.

Treating the toys as canon is a dubious business.

Springer has had toys where he's not a triple changer.
I don't really see how it pandered to China. It certainly never got to the point of pandering it does for American audiences. It seemed fine to me.

Hah, I sort of agree. I don't think Critics should consider it Satan, but I think it's enjoyable, albeit, a bit too long for the average movie goers patience with a popcorn action film.

I enjoyed it immensely. The CGI looked fantastic and the i loved the characterization the Bots got this time round. Yeah there were some loop holes but i've come to expect them in Bays TF films. My only gripe was the run time

I enjoyed it. Then again, I never go into action flicks preparing for some deep meaningful story that make it a cinematic masterpiece. I just want to see my favorite fictional characters on a huge screen doing what they do best, fighting their foes, overcoming the obstacles and doing it in a thrill ride of a visual spectacle. I think my biggest complaint was the shaky cameras in the high motion sections. There was one point I felt dizzy (in the 2D showing, no less). Overall, yea, there may have been some plot issues and the bots may look generic, but it did what I wanted it to do, entertain me. It succeeded.

I didn't notice the film was that long, it didn't feel like it was 3 hours. Then again it's been raining here for three days, so it's not like I have a lot else to do.

The CGI was mostly fantastic, but there were definitely moments that looked a bit fake. One was the scene on the wires. The background behind the humans looked fake. The worst offender is the car jump. That could have been done practically and it should have. The car physics didn't even feel real. CGI car stunts annoy me because I have always loved movies and TV shows with great stunt driving.

Good movie with really good parts mixed in with a few head scratches. I can say more good things about it than bad, so :thumb

Yeah, I'll be willing to say it was good. Probably the best out of the live action movies thus far at the very least.

It was good. Flawed, but good. It was long, and the editing ranged from acceptable to abruptly awkward, but the Autobots were just a treat and up until China it was reasonably well-paced. Plus, it finally gave us TWO worthwhile TF villains for the movies.

    Basically.

There were just some parts that weren't clear, either because of editing or mis-timed dialogue. But when it was good, it was pretty damn enjoyable. I never cringed or felt I had to look away, though. At it's absolute lowest point it was still just "meh."

Overall I think the best one of the four so far. I enjoyed it BUT:

Dinobots didnt talk at all which is ok, except the dinobots where sorta the selling point for this one.

Optimus is all like "yeah, gonna kill me some humans now!" not exactly the pillar of protection we grew up with but what evs, even good guys gotta feel killy nilly once in a while.

Too goddam obvious that they where sucking ass to the chinese audience since thats kinda the only country that matters to money makers anymore!

What the hell was up with the cheap CGI? when they first show Transformium (or w/e) I was like " your kidding me with this 16-bit bull crap right?"

theres more but this isnt a bash thread and I actually liked the fact that my kids loved it.
My son loved the choice of cars this time around. Hes 7 so hes played Gran Turismo and Forza, glad to see that Michael Bay finally got around to playing those games too aparently.

    Except he never did.

He made mention of his vow to not kill any humans, but whomever was behind the Autobot deaths, even if they were human, Optimus said was going to kill him.

Which he... didn't, actually. He killed Attinger to save Cade but there was never a point in the movie where Optimus figured it out that Attinger was responsible. In fact, he thought it was Joshua at first, and didn't kill him or let him be killed. He also yelled for all humans evacuate KSI's labs before destroying the place.

He hated the humans for sure, but he only ever killed Attinger in Cade's defense. He never mentioned revenge at all after that speech.

It was.... on par if not slightly better than DOTM for me, but felt overly long, disjointed, and just kinda all over the place too. Wasn't a bad movie per se (that would be ROTF, naturally) but not a great movie or even a good movie either, I suppose. The seeds (pun intended) were definitely there for a good movie as far as plot goes and they do develop Optimus a bit more than past movies, but they could have cut out a lot of unnecessary junk (most of the jokes and humor falls flat as do most of the human exposition) and made it a more streamlined and coherent film that stands on its own. At the moment, it feels like a bookend or something instead.

To me, this was the worst of the 4 movies. It definitely had some great scenes(highway fight with galvatron/lockdown, dinobots, optimus scanning and intro to new autobots, anything else with optimus). However, the plot and writing was just godawful. I mean horrible. The whole chinese part with the into to libingbing and the elevator fight scene, etc was freaking pointless. Galvatron wanting "the seed" was half-arsed writing that made no sense. The whole father-boyfriend banter was good 1 time but after 20 times it got old. The girl couldn't act to save her life. Poor Wahlberg was given some really cheesy dialogue to work with.

How you could've easily made this movie better: cut down the first 15 minutes(pointless dinosaur scene, pointless arctic scene), cut out most the father-boyfriend banter, cut out all the chinese character fight and dialogue scenes. Add that 15-20 minutes to describe the dinobots and flesh out a better plot.
