Here's the thing. They DIDN'T catch up. Most of the human made Cybertronians? They got their ass kicked by a real Cybertronian.

The ONLY thing they had over their real counterparts were the special way of transforming. Which I will happily say that I really enjoyed. Cause it was something new and different. And yes, you could argue that the point of Transformers is making a car turn into a robot into a legitimate way, but to me, the way the Human made Cons change gives a sense of 'wrong' to them. Like they're not meant to be. Which, to be fair, they're not.

It makes me sad that no one here has pointed out how completely nonsensical the claim of a "molecularly unstable element" is. Molecules are made up of elements, not the other way around. It's like saying a rubber tire is made of cars.

THIS. I felt wrong when I saw the 'transformation' scene from a TV spot, but it felt fair when I actually watched the movie.

But that's why they have no fear! :p

It's the bullshitiest of all, not only by how lame it sounds but by how cheatsy it is. It makes midichlorians sound good. It's the hardest pile of bullshit that has been thrown to my face ever, and I have a history of being bullshitted before.

If that's the most bullshit you've ever encountered, then you know nothing of bullshit.

People say it is a cheat, that's exactly it, humans did build their own transformers, but yet they themselves could not properly recreate the natural Cybertronain transformation, therefore they cheated at it. It's like building a lego set, but you go against a step and wing it and in the end you built it, but it doesn't look like what it is on the box.

I don't think they cheated at it so much as they just got it WRONG. Or they upgraded it, depends on how you see it. I see it as the KSI-Formers being just...WRONG creations. Wrong as in they shouldn't be. The way they transform is like demons, to me. They're what I imagine the boogeymen of Cybertron being like.

As Cade himself said it, "Some things shouldn't be invented." Cybertronians weren't MEANT to transform that way. And I really like how they did that. Makes them more 'dangerous' to me.

Yeah, there's something 'ethereal' about the groups of cubes flying around and then reforming. But one could see how it'd work in Military uses. You have your drones driving towards a target, then as it gets close, the cubes disassemble and them touch down right in the thick of the firefight, and don't have to worry about being a 'moving target' coming at the enemy in one direction.

I was kind of waiting for the Vehicons to, like, break down or something because it's unstable. Hence why normal TFs don't do that.

Who knows, with Galvatron still around, next movie? Maybe that'll explain any redesign?

Having the cubes be able to turn into mini tornadoes and fly around onto rooftops and whatnot was really taking way it too far imo. So we go from a metal that can have its shape and colors programmed, to a magic flying metal.

the transformation was intriguing, but it became annoying when suddenly all of the man made cons transformed that way. i was expecting Stinger to like evaporate into the air and shred bumblebee to pieces.

It bugs the engineer in me that the molecules apparently break down and reassemble and everything with no apparent loss or gain of energy, mostly. You need energy to break or make molecular bonds.

Then the other part of me remembers "oh yeah, it's just an action movie I'm here to have fun watching. Bring on the neat looking effects!"
