I had been told that DOTM got a physical CD release, but I haven't found it anywhere. Not even from third parties on Amazon or sites like eBay.

I hope AOE gets a physical CD release, though.

There is a difference between a soundtrack and a score. Let's hope we might get the latter after never getting one for TF3. The soundtracks have sold terribly but they seem pretty stubborn at this point in continuing to pretend that it is the 90's.

Hopefully, they'll be more like The Lego Movie and Amazing Spider-Man 2, in that they had a physical release that had both songs and score on it.

A CD with just the score and "Battle Cry" would be nice.

I hope the score comes soon.

As to a soundtrack CD I don't think they are doing one, or we would've seen something to effect of one by now I would think. Unless someone has better info. I personally don't have a problem with them not doing one, because certain music has a tendency to date a film depending on the music.

Plus people usually cherry pick the songs they want from them anyway, unless they do some BS and make you have to purchase a whole album just for one track.

Looking at the original Spider-man and hearing Macy Gray really dates it. Using AC/DC on the other hand is classic and not so much, still didn't help Iron man 2.

That is what I am doing - however Paramount is ******ed and chosen not to release it in my location for another 2-3 weeks as such I will catch it online when its out and do my own review. I am not judging the film solely on the reviews from others - I am simply pointing out that the reviews from others have pretty much placed its ranking as good but having a lot of flaws.

I've always valued the score as a much better quality to the movie - hence why I supported Autobot Burnout's comment, because whatever the quality of the movie is I personally hope the score is amazing as it has been for the other movies.

Valuing one aspect over another is what every fan of this film series appears to be doing. Many disregard the bad character development and plot due to the action and CGI. Insulting Autobot Burnout and myself so harshly because we are more enthusiastic about the score than the movie is just immature. Once again he says 'from what I'm hearing' so he's basing it off what he's heard from the spoiler thread and his opinion on the movie may change when he sees it - however like me he also knows the quality of the score has been fairly consistent unlike the quality of films. Hence why he is more enthusiastic about the score at the moment.

Essentially you are insulting two people who are just here hoping that the music is good... ¬_¬

I went into ROTF and DOTM expecting to have fun... it turns out expectations don't equate to reality. Instead I judge on something consistent in terms of quality - the score - and look forward to the score of the movie.

Nope, it never did... from the beginning it was listed but 'unavailable' on Amazon...it's still on my wish list. :D

(Although there is a Trilogy CD from the London Music Works that is still available on Amazon.com--only has 4 scores from DOTM tho..
    13. Dark Side of the Moon
    14. Sentinel Prime
    15. It's Our Fight
    16. Our Final Hope )

Apparently, I'm not the only one who wanted a CD, I still get comments left on my review of the lack of availability of the DOTM score.

Didn't make sense to me, we got a CD for PRIME, but not for DOTM.

    Linky for Trilogy CD...

You know what the funniest thing is? People say a 2 or 3 hour movie is too long yet they have no problem working a 12, 14 or 16 hour shift. NOBODY does anything for 12, 14 or 16 hours straight. But when their love of money kicks in 12 hours is nothing. I just think it's hilarious every time I see somebody say movie is too long. But standing there doing the same thing over & over & over again like a machine for 8 hours straight doesn't bother most people. A lot of people actually love it. pfft....psychos!

I hope there is a score piece similar to "Sentinel Prime", it was undeniably my favorite piece from DOTM.

My favorite score track is still the Autobot Arrival to Earth track from the first movie. Nothing has topped that score track IMO.

I Aldo have the never used tracks and other media tracks that were done for games and commercials for the first movie. A lot of those are greet too :)

Here is the unreleased version of the Autobot arrival to earth track. Right around 3:38 is when the version we all heard in the movie actually starts lol.

If I already didn't own the 1st 2 movie scores on cd...I'm only missing DOTM. Did the 1st 2 movie scores not sell enough to warrant a cd? It seems like it never released anywhere... just digital.

Movie score is solid in this one. A bit of reused tracks from DOTM, but that score was fine too. There's a sweet track that sounds like Battle from DOTM but has the Battle Cry war-drum rhythm that was pretty sweet. Then there's the new take on the Autobot theme that sounds pretty different. I'd get the score.

Good to hear. I've loved the past scores for the films, so I'm looking forward to this one. :)

I wish Battle, Decepticons, Scorponok, and Arrival to Earth are somehow utilized in AOE.

You guys got to keep your ears sharp!

A segment of Arrival to Earth is actually played in the last quarter of the movie; just before the Dinobots forest scene.

Other than that, the score is so Jablonsky-ish.
