I agree! Michael Bay actually did something right for a change after the last two sequels. This was a HUGE improvement, heck even better than the first one.

It was good and lots of fun, but it still had problems. Huge problems in some cases. bad acting in one of the main leads (Tessa), bloated run-time, badly done human drama that constantly repeats and doesn't go anywhere until the very end of Act 3, lots of needless and long scenes...

I very much enjoyed it (the first time I could ever say that about a Transformers movie), but I don't think we should just ignore its issues and pretend its the best movie ever. A lot of the critics are being pretty fair I think. As Transformer fans there's a lot more for us to get out of the movie then others and I think about a 4-7 is a fair score for critics to give the film due to its flaws.

People need to remember that Rotten Tomatoes doesn't mean it only gets 33/100 as a score, it means that 33% of critics gave it a remarkable reviews.

I'm disappointed that one of my favourite critics slammed the movie. I wanted a positive review of the movie being enjoyable for TF fans.

I know what to expect!, Chris. But can someone honestly tell me what else he got wrong?
Yeah maybe some of the humans are not that great, but that does not convince me to not watch the movie. I'm glad the thoughts from people in TFW2005 are great.

EDIT: Had AOE been the first TF movie with a slightly altered plot. I think the reception would be better than TF07.

And the IMDB rating is dropping by the minute because everyone just rates it 1 for the sake of it.

    Screw the critics.

This has been the only film I have known that is 2.5hours in length, and having the last 1.5hours been given a fast, focused pace. MB stepped up a lot for TF4.

And got, the fight scenes were all so satisfactory! Lockdown vs. Optimus sure did not disappoint! Unlike Optimus vs. Megatron in TF1 & 3, and Optimus vs. Fallen in TF2.

While that is possible - have you considered that people dislike the movie...

Errr ... the dance scene was missing from my "version" aswell. Movie ended when Prime "leaves" Earth. So I guess they didn't know about an after credit scene.

No, it's likely just people rating it a 1 to get the rating down. I've been on there since 2007. Users often brag about it on the forums.

I think most of the critics are forced to Give a negative review because they will be shunned if they give it a positive review

You would like that to happen I presume. But no, even with realistic low ratings, its not possible for it to drop that fast.

I understand a few people will do that - however Red Goblin seems to be implying that all the critics on their are simply trolls rating it as 1 star because they want to lower the rating.

Thanks for your pointless accusations about me wanting the score to drop. No, I don't want the score to drop - however chances are it will given that we're reaching the point where more and more people have seen the film. You do realise the film was only released yesterday and due to the smaller number of reviews an influx of new unfavourable reviews would result in the ratings drop.

It IS possible for it to happen - especially seeing as now is when we are seeing reviews from people who have seen the movie at something other than an event showing or premier. A larger audience means more reviews - chances are these will be unfavourable as whatever happens this movie is a departure from the formula of the prior films in the series.

While I don't dismiss your idea completely as I know their are some who will troll the boards - its a little unfair to dismiss every unfavourable review as being from a troll.

Remember the other day their were only 5 votes - today their is 14. It is easily possible for a film series that averages a 37.3% rating to have AOE be around that level or anything between 19% (ROTF) to 57% (TF1).

Care to explain the RT rating plummeting too then? Or is that just people being assholes and fooling the system too?

Or it really isn't a good movie.

29% before the movie has even come out in most countries is pretty terrible. Even Bay movies shouldn't be that low. Its lower than Dark of The Moon, while so many people are saying that its on level with the first one. I have to agree with another user. If a huge, professional critic rated it as fresh, their critic skills would seriously be doubted among the community because for some reason everyone has it set in their mind before they even see the movie that it will be one-star. Transformers movies are not one-star movies. That would be some crap like Sharknado. Not transformers. I think that from a critical standpoint AOE should be like a six or possibly a seven, but some reason everyone likes to give it one star. Face it, some of these people are indeed doing it to troll/lower the rating because of some unreasonable desire to see Michael Bay crash and burn.

I don't give a fuck about RT, if you want to continue that conversation, call Ephland. I'm talking about general movie audience.
