The first thing I did was boot up Escalation and good lord Cybertron Optimus looked sexy. So sharp, so detailed, so shiny... The earth environments are meh (we'll never get good Earth levels until we go back to RotF style gameplay) but so far even drift looked nicely detailed and polished.

 

Is it worth the extra cash?

 

Here's the thing, the thing I was worried about happened and when I tried to get into a public match I couldn't (I only tried once though). I got this game incredibly cheap at £38 when next-gen games usually launch around £45.

The graphics are great until around chapter 4. From that point on, and even in escalation, the characters have this fuzzy grainy texture over their bodies and it almost looks like they have an overshield from halo. It's an ugly glitch. You can really see it when you get to play as sharpshot and you fly around.
