That's probably the sole reason he was cast: to bring in a larger audience.
I'm personally glad to hear this. I always like when anything in the Transformers franchise is successful :)

I to some extent understand the Bay part but what's wrong with Mark? The abhorrence for Shia from the previous movies will obviously affect this movie's sales, since he's gone.

I'm know I'm in the minority (that might consist of just me), but I'm not a fan of Wahlberg as an actor at all, and actually would have preferred Shia stay on.

Makes sense I guess, those seeing the previous film are likely the majority who will see the sequel.

So only 17% of the large audience isn't a fan of Bay... I'm glad I'm in the 17%

Well, I suppose Mark Wahlberg was good back years ago before he sold out to work with movies to get money such as The Happening, Pain & Gain and Transformers; Age Of Extinction... oh wait...

Those people are going to be pissed off as fuck - considering they get 20 minutes of screen time, don't speak, barely fight in robot mode and do jack shit.

"Those people are going to be pissed off as fuck - considering they get 20 minutes of screen time, don't speak, barely fight in robot mode and do jack shit."

So only 5% of the audience of these movies likes any other Transformer... that explains a lot about what the effect of these movies has had on the fans. The only Transformers they connect with is Optimus and Bumblebee.

Box Office Predictions, I predict Age of Extinction will make around $150 Million Domestic this weekend, by the end of it's run it will make around $400 Million Domestic and 1.5 Billion Worldwide

Yeah, I know. But I like him less. Honestly one of my least favorite actors in Hollywood.

Am I missing the point to this post? Spoilers are all over the place.

It's true. Spoilers are all over the place. But Scorpio still hasn't seen it with his own eyes. His opinions right now are based on assumptions of spoilers. Hell, I seem to be very positive on the movie based on my own assumptions from the spoilers, but I still haven't seen it yet. . . so I can't yet claim "BEST MOVIE EVAR"

If you say that, then I can see where your statement came from. I'm glad Shia left, if Shia was still a participant in this, the movie would of start to look like DOTM 2.0, which I would not enjoy to see and it would probably have an even more negative effect on the reviews.

Yeah, because it could be the best 20 minutes of the movie.

A guy said once "That really makes me fucking sad." (If that's true.)

    Agreed.

Yes, but so far people were pretty satisfied from what they saw with the Dinobots. He was stating his opinion on what he had previously read, he was assuming things based on words, not what he visually observed. I'm not trying to start an argument, in my opinion, he doesn't have the right to judge for others (yet).

Yeah, I completely understand the need to replace him, I just don't like the replacement. Get an actual action star for these movies since that's the point of them.

As for Scorpio, I kinda do agree, hyping up the Dinobots and having them appear in the last 20 minutes of a near three hour movie is bound to cause disappointment. I would call his post an educated assumption more than his typical movie bashing.

20 mins of screen time is more than enough, they have more than Devestator, Jolt, Shockwave, Que, and Soundwave combined. Or near enough anyway.

We knew from day 1 they wouldn't get as much as Bee and Prime. The people who thought so were really kidding themselves.

Me on the other hand, has read near enough everything (while keeping surprises for myself) and i cannot wait to see this film. Hopefully will be my first Imax experience.

Yeah. 20 minutes out of a 3 hour 15 minute movie? That's just barely over 12% of the film. Given that the most common complaint coming from both critics and forum users here on TFW who got advance screenings is that the movie shouldn't really be as long, and that the front-end of the film drags heavily, 20 minutes at the end of the film where the dinobots are barely better than just plain 'ol robot dinosaurs when the idea is that they were supposed to play a major part in the film is really kind of a pathetic payoff.

Devy was really just a nice looking plot device, Jolt pretty much was a last minute addition mandate by Chevy to pimp out the Chevy Volt (and look how well that went...) but was never one of the big characters being pushed for ROTF to begin with, Shockwave really should have done more instead of that pointless giant mechanical sandworm thing being the centerpiece, Que was pretty much cannon fodder from the start given most of his character development is imparted by his head rather than screen time, and Soundwave actually got a lot of screentime and lip service over two movies so really he kind of gets a pass in this case.
