I think thats kinda the point, "those who do not learn their history are doomed to repeat it" and the arrogance of KSI repeats the same mistake as sector 7, trying to control something they simply cannot control

Your quote applies more to the fact this film is 99% likely originally intended as a reboot - rehashing a bunch of the same plotlines from the first film.

Your quote would make sense... except KSI didn't repeat the same mistakes as Sector 7. They also had no knowledge of Sector Seven as they obviously had no knowledge of the prior films given they use Megatron's head as a template. They went about a similar method but had no knowledge that a dead Transformer could come back to life - as this was something impossible except for Matrix or Allspark in the prior movies.

I'd also question why a reborn Megatron in a new body would call himself Galvatron when describing himself. Remember, the reason he gained that name in other adaptions was because he was given the name via another source - Unicron or otherwise. He didn't change his name on a dime simply because he had a new form.

I'd go into more detail but I'm basing this off others reports on his character - so will explain why its stupid probably in my own review if it is indeed badly portrayed in the film.

If anything, it sounds far more like a reference to the first film than anything.

That's for the audience to figure out, however the answer is quite obvious if you've been keeping up with the spoiler reviews.

The movie doesn't bluntly state if he's Megatron or not. Though there are some hints of Megatron's presence in Galvatron's body, like I said, it is for the audience to figure out, but I'm 90% sure he's Megatron, because at the end of the movie he says,
    "...for I'm reborn."

I have but I still have no clue. It seems like a piece of his mind is still in there (Optimus thinks this) But why change his name? If he knows he is Megatron and so does Prime why call him Galvatron? He is going to let humans name him? Maybe after watching the film will we have a better idea of what will happen between Megatron/Galvatron but I'm hoping Megatron comes back stronger than ever as Megatron. You can't have Optimus without Megatron.

Optimus: Megatron? You do live...why...these killings....WHAT DO YOU SEEK WITH THIS, YOU CAUSE WAS LOST LONG AGO!

Galvatron: Answer this first Prime, did you show Megatron mercy when he aided your hand in the defeat of Sentinel....no

    Optimus: Megatron I...

Galvatron: IT'S GALVATRON! MEGATRON IS MERELY THE GHOST THAT HAUNTS THIS SHELL...much like your fallen comrades will haunt you after I'm done with them all.

    *Transforms and escapes*

    Optimus: GALVATRON!

    (Not from movie)

I have a feeling he is his own robot but was possessed by Megatron. Like "Unitron" from TF Prime.

I'm glad I'm not so hard to please.

I've got an idea! Why don't you make the next Transformers film! Not a filmmaker you say? Aww poop. Guess there will never be a good film based on our beloved franchise.

problem i have with Galvatron in any sequel, he doesn't seem strong.

Prime apparently beats him in the road scene from the trailers, his fakeformers are defeated and die like they are made of paper.

So he doesn't seem like a good opponent, he's little danger to anyone but possibly humans.

I've read that in the film Optimus realizes that Galvatron is Megatron in a new body, is this true? I know it's pretty much certain Megatron is reborn but does Optimus mention it in the movie?

He sounds identical to Megatron in Transformers Prime, he also burns swords with his chest hole like the Smelter Demon in Dark Souls II

Prime said that the spark contains their soul and memories, no spark = no memories of being megatron, he does seem to have megatron's brain though.

Note programmable metal. There are five iterations of Galvatron. The one we see is the fifth one and finally gains life of its own.

Galvatron acted like the Allspark did with the KSI TFs, turning them to Decepticons.

Galvatron has all Megatron's memories but possibly Sentinel Prime's as well. Since KSI was mining their heads for TF tech and history.

It only became possible because Brains felt what KSI is doing should blow up in their faces.
