i want that shockwave!

 

Springer as Rodimus, I can kind of see. But Shockwave, I just don't see it. To my he's just a purple Whirl. In fact that should just be his name; Purple Whirl...

 

Well I would pick up both if not for the crazy cloud prices. Neither is worth the previously asked prices of 100 for the cloud figures. I am not sure I would pay 100 for a combined set.

This Rodimus looks like an older version of the character...and I like that. This guy is the Rodimus Prime to the CHUG Hot Rod. Really cool. If I was willing to drop this much $ on a toy, I'd get it. Hoping Toys R Us releases a similar-themed exclusive somewhere down the line.

Shockwave is still just PurpWhirl, but I appreciate the "cannon" mode they came up with.

 

This is why Arcee can't decide between Rodimus and Springer.

 

I'm sorry, the big gun platform thing is cool, but that's not Shockwave. They should have sprung for a new head. Rodimus works great as is though. I'm getting him.

 

None of the others have a new head... Why would Rodimus?

 

This is pretty much spot on as to my thoughts on Rodimus sadly, shame really. But he still looks cool.

 

It would have been really awesome to get some minor remolding but the paintjob is rediculously awesome. My new rodimus prime. My fans project one will be sold soon for this. I do have a feeling we are going to get a ultra magnus leader and voyager rodiimus and galvatron for fall 2015 in the generations line.....

 

Rodimus bot mode looks sweet! Car mode looks sort of meh (not as streamlined) but that fact that he's got a third mode, definitely helps balance it out.

I feel so dirty after looking at that last picture though...

 

Shockwave's bio is exactly same as Starscream's. I think it's some kind of error.

Yeah, that Rodimus is the first one in this line I was looking forward to seeing - and definitely want it now!! Any idea of preorders / release timeframes?

Not sure why everyone is expecting different heads, etc - this is Takara doing straight repaints (however illogical: Shockwave, Starscream, I'm looking at you...) - I've yet to see any new parts for these repaints, and don't expect to, tbh.

(The Brawn head on FE Bulkhead does not count, as that mold was already created for the aborted GDO Brawn, same goes for Starscream - that's Doubledealer's head)

Takara seem to be pretty clear on using what's already created, and not using any 'new' parts.... Unless there is an alternate head that was mooted for the Springer/Sandstorm mold, or an alternate Whirl head that I missed?

Looking at that group pic, who is to the right of FOC Soundwave? I see a little tri-horn there, could we be getting a Galvatron?

Also, wtf is Astrotrain doing with a Ravage on an Energon leash? Surely he should be teamed with FOC Soundwave?

 

That looks like Dispensor, and "Ravage" is actually Grimlock from the looks of it.

Rodimus should not work that well from Springer. Hell I'm liking Whirl's Shockwave cosplay. If I ever got any Cloud figures, It would be these two.
