Yes, WfC and FoC were worth buying just for the campaign mode...and so, most likely, would a bona fide Cybertron sequel. A crossover video game...I dunno. This wasn't the story I would have liked to explore. This doesn't feel like a fan-service so much as a fan-spite.

 

This feels much closer to indifference than spite as far as the fan base is concerned. Typical for a movie cash in.

If you want to know fan-spite, follow anything associated with Capcom.

 

I really don't understnad why they couldn't add the multiplayer from Fall of Cybertron, even if they just copy and pasted the same thing it would have been good with the new character models

 

If Escalation has been beefed up, I'm ok with that.

Well the move tie-in had me questioning if I should buy this but if there's no actual multiplayer, screw it. It isn't worth it...

 

It's like the marketing department thought this would be a way to tie in all the different kinds of fans, but it's sort of backfiring...

Transformers had a good run with games for a while there...but never forget BEAST WARS.

 

Agreed, if this was a true WfC/FoC followup I'd pay out the arse for it. Limited edition? Sure! DLC? I would have bought it all! This though? They took the best TF game series and mixed it with an ill-conceived movie tie-in and have effectively ensured I (a die-hard fan of the previous games) will not drop a penny for this cashcow of a game. All they did was take assets from FoC and merge them with some terrible movie-verse stuff and called it a day...

I WAS going to go pick it up, horrible story aside I figured the multiplayer would still be fun but damn they cut that out entirely? Way to totally BUTCHER a game that could have been the best in the Cybertron series.

 

I said this before on another thread but I wish this was just called age of extinction the video game keep it movie and only movie!

 

If the campaign is twice as long as WFC, (say about 20 lengthy chapters) with Shockwave, Jazz, Soundwave (Ejecting his cassette's), Bruticus & IronHide all playable having there own chapter or two... i'm completely fine with them not including PvP online multiplayer.

 

To be fair the multiplayer in FOC is rather terrible. Lag out the ass, little if any communication between teams, and that's when a connection to a game holds up. WFC's multiplayer is completely dead.

At least with co-op I can play with friends and still have fun.

It'll probably be like 8 chapters since it's a movie game.

 

I was just playing FoC on Xbox last night and it was packed with players and I had little to no lag at all. It was pretty fun to go back and enjoy it again.

 

Some guy on YouTube claims he talked to the producers and the PVP content would be added later, but I don't put a lot of faith in that. And WiiU isn't even getting the Escalation, which is ridiculous.

 

Okay so the first challenge on the Xbox One version is "Bearer of the Spark" and you get it by unlocking Prime Mode in 2014 apparently. If there is no PvP, how can there be Prime mode? Prime mode in the last two games was exclusive to online matches for reaching the max rank and resetting back to rank 1.

 

Any further info on this? Will this game have death matches?

 

Nothing official, the people making this have been pretty tight-lipped. The game just came out of nowhere and they've revealed very little, if the multiplayer is gone, or even delayed it just shows that they rushed this out. I hope with every fiber of my being that High Moon makes another game that actually completes the Cybertron saga they started.

 

I hope the rumor of the PvP being added later is true

 

Some people have the game, and the only multiplayer component is Escalation.

There is a levelling system, unified between campaign and Escalation, which is where the level-based trophies/achievements come from.
