Heh. The other rules of the sea: 1- Never put your hand in a clam's mouth 2- Never put your rear end on a pirate's face 3- Never release a Kraken 4- Always abandon a lost cause 5- Never wear a dress on a Tuesday.
On another planet. Something I didn't know: the sequel is directed by Chris McKay, who (I think) was the producer of this one. That gives me me hope. ^^
I know what you mean. When that happened, I felt a bit uneasy, like they weren't going to be able to pull it off, but in the end, I think they did. And then some.
I just want to see some 90s Space theme sets in the sequel, Ice Planet 2002 preferably. Or better yet, just a movie about Ice Planet 2002. I like Ice Planet 2002. Very, very much.
It was a little jarring at first but after all the hints and foreshadowing throughout the movie, it was going to happen some way or another.
YO SPOILERS I DUNNO HOW SPOILER TAGS WORK I just didn't like how they didn't really explain it. You could pass it off as the kid's imagination, but when it showed Emmet's POV and him moving around, it just made it confusing. The video game said it best, actually. A firefighter character approaches Emmet when he fell from the sky and asks him where he came from. Emmet replies with something like; "This place is controlled by a kid somehow" (live-action Will Ferrel wasn't in the game). And that's the best way to put it. It's not made up, but we don't know how.
Some things are better left to the audience's imagination. Not everything needs to get explained (e.g. the Force).
I watched the commentary earlier today, and it was pretty funny! It also pointed out some things that I hadn't noticed in my three previous viewings!
idk. kre-o is actually very creatively done. especially the newer stuff. and the figures are much more creative too. i am glad hasbro got into that field.
Or just Phil Lord and Chris Miller. 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, they're amazig directors.
I honestly can't see the sequel being anything other than evil Master Builders (and the theme being about not abusing creativity with the real life part being that Fin lets his troublesome friends play with the LEGO display) or Fin going through that awkward point in life where he doesn't care about LEGO anymore and the universe begins to slowly die. Though I'm sure the amazing writing talent working on this will come up with something awesome.
reading the early script, i think i can confirm what the "forest of obsolete products" is. in the early script, instead of cloud cuckoo land, they went to a land called "king carls castle", a place made almost entirley of parts that arent used anymore (stuff in old grey, the old kinds of joints, out of print parts, and a bit of duplo stuff) and were betrayed by king carl, whos castle was then destroyed, causing him a heel face turn at the end. also, the technic mecha place is probably not where bionicle stuff is, as the still pic showed the bionicle characters at the beach from the first wave (i may be wrong on that), so the bionicle place must be by water, right?
