Is there still a glitch on WiiU update?

I haven't had any problems with the recent update on my console.

    Contains:
    - The game
    - Life size Link scarf
    - Triforce table top clock
    - Small art book
    - Code for 8 DLC costumes
    - All inside of a plastic replica chest that makes the chime when you open it

I really hope Gamestop has that as an exclusive like they did with the WWHD Ganon figure and we don't miss out like we did with the Link Between Worlds CE that had the tiny chest and an eShop code for Link's Awakening.

NOTE: Play Asia's markup is crazy, it should be about $160.

I've has my Wii U since Christmas and I've enjoyed playing on it thoroughly. Been able to play a game without the need of the TV is a feature I never knew I wanted until I had it :)

Just got my Wii U earlier today.

Got a pretty good deal, Nintendoland Wii U bundle + 2 free games from a selection of 4. I chose Mario Bros U and Sonic All Stars Racing. Other two to choose from were Fifa 13 and Nintendo Land. I also got Mario Kart 8 and will probably choose Pikmin 3 as my free game.

I have yet to play any of them yet as I am still performing the system update. Lots of error messages popping up, so it has been a fairly slow process, seems to be going better now.

    Gamepad is awesome though :)

The 3DS I can see (isn't it a turn-based strategy anyways?), but leaving out an important mode like that on the Wii U (which I assume will have the same gameplay as the other console versions)?

Apparently they filled the patent in 2003 but it took them years to get it approved,

Is anyone else annoyed that no Amiibo figures are available for preorder yet?

That still then questions why it took them at least 7 years to file the suite.

    Touché.

I actually do expect that one figure to never be in stock though.

Knowing how popular Skylanders and Disney Infinity are though, I really hope Amiibo takes off. I actually hope Nintendo is going to attempt to advertise Amiibo though.

The problem I see is that Nintendo characters have retained popularity largely due to nostalgia (and continuously good games entries to their franchises). So how does that break into the Skylanders/Infinity marketshare? Especially when the games using them aren't aimed at kids as directly as the other two are? I just think Nintendo is missing their audience and also missing the window of opportunity to break into this market. Maybe I'm just overly skeptical of everything Nintendo after their handling of the Wii U, but I just have serious doubts over how successful this could really be.

To be fair, Activision did ask Nintendo about making Skylanders exclusive to Nintendo platforms, but rejected the idea.

It's like Nintendo's just always playing catch up.

To be fair, they didn't take them up on that (and Activision is probably really fucking happy about that now), instead adapting the idea to their own needs albeit a few years too late.
