I really wish they would release this en masse via the web site instead of having us hunt for them and waste time.

The 'toys aren't for kids' crowd needs to watch the Lego Movie, like pronto.

These are going to be 60$ at TRU has that been confirmed? If that's true that I'm going to keep buying the KOs for 30$. These are great looking figures but not worth 60$ for a voyager sized figure.. If they come out at 40$ then maybe ill pick them up

    truth

voyager size does not equal voyager engineering or production quality or paint quality.

    Why?

Why is that kid so damn ugly?

Are these kids related to Hasbro employees? Cause they seem to get uglier and uglier. And I'm not just talking about the face disasters... I'd like to also point out the wardrobe catastrophes...

Your avi has correctly fixed the promo images. Bravo. :thumb

Unlike most lego sets, MPs really are marketed towards the adult collecting crowd though. I mean really what is the appeal for a child to get a character whose last appearance on tv predated their birth, has an irrelevant alt mode, and costs literally 3x the price of a modern character of the same size from the latest movie?

Even in the rare case where the MP price is the same, which do you think Billy is going to go for at TRU, the MP G1 Optimus/Grimlock or the newer shiner Movie Optimus/Grimlock with the giant cardboard display and movie posters surrounding it?

It's kind of odd yet funny Hasbro continues to simplify the lines because of parent complaints of the figures being to complex for kids and yet here are pics of a kid playing with an mp, the most complex they can offer.

You're totally right, we should all just skip out on the official product and only buy knockoffs, after all we'll keep getting more awesome MP's from Takara if nobody buys them right ? Sarcasm

$60 would be a joke and make a mockery of anyone who waited on the Hasbro version making the logical assumption it would be cheaper. Wait a year and pay basically the same price is what drives people to KO's, like it or not.

I bought a KO prowl the day this was confirmed. He's perfect. No issues at all.

Toys are for whom so ever will enjoy them.

There is a place where catering to children or what you think children wants is only catering to a lowest common denominator; and in the process making those with and IQ higher than a squirrel feel patronised.

Take MOTU 20XX a very nice toyline but hampered in it's play value by it's lack of articulation and by comparison to Wrestling figures of the same period They made a millennial toy but gave it 1980's articulation... That was not so cool. Then when they catered only to collectors you got a niche line with a great many characters some so obscure even some fans had never even heard of them... totally alienating to Children in many ways.

I am for a sensible approach you develop an idea you decide who you are aiming it at but then you also allow that extra little wiggle of features or quality so that if the kid likes it when they are 7 they might still like it when they are 9.

Hasbro seems to have this fatalistic attitude that they are only selling stuff to kids for a year or two at best... and yes there is some accuracy to that but it's not a complete picture either as a more complete picture would also consider kid brothers seeing what their old bro has and then inheriting it as they grow and perhaps wanting their own new things too.

I do think that Armada almost had it right it was relatively kiddy proof it didn't use a huge number of ball joints so was not so easy to pull to pieces (unlike Beast Wars toys).
It just needed to up it's design quality a bit and I think they pretty much got there with Transformers Cybertron - However I think a toy line might need a bit more tight focus than some might have.

Masterpiece toys selling at $60.00 is a bit alienating though really.
