I think a good deal of that confusion out in the general public is because they have been pushing producer Michael Bay really hard but you hardly see any mention at all of director Jonathan Liebesman. Unless you just really keep up with most types of movie news then I'm willing to bet most people don't know who the director is on the Turtles movie.

John Q. Public is stupid. Just horrendously stupid. Put people together in a group and they automatically revert to being complete morons.

Bay isn't even directing Ninja Turtles. He didn't write or direct it. He's just one of the producers. And they're also not aliens.

Moral of the story: People are stupid.

This reminds me of how the general public (and often people wearing t-shirts of the movie) think that The Nightmare Before Christmas was directed by Tim Burton. It was, of course, directed by Henry Selick. The big producer name attached is often the one people remember.

... then, what was the reason for the thread?

he didn't write it, he didn't direct it, and the turtles aren't aliens?.. so.. again, why was this created?

I have stated this several times, and I will say it again - 1) Bayverse is the reason I am a Transformers fan. 2) I am not a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I don't keep up to date with the movie news. 3) This thread was created just to show that it looks like people are pissed with Michal Bay on other franchises as well. Its just a thread. I don't see why people here get so down over a simple conversation. Another thing, I will state again, I am more of a retro guy in my young age. I accept the Bayverse movies for what they are, but they are definitely not the best well written series. Although, I think the new trilogy will change things. All and all, I don't see why I am stupid for having a fun conversation. I have no knowledge of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I don't know what is going on with the new movie.

Yeah, it's the problem when you put a Producer's name on the front of something.

I've been rallying for years against morons who say Tim Burton directed The Nightmare Before Christmas...WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY HENRY SELICK!!!

Though when a film series tanks, many will automatically point and go, "It was the Producer's fault! He destroyed my dreams of cinematic nirvana!"

...besides, Bay's Platinum Dunes production company has already 'ruined' other of films by rebooting older horror films like 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre,' 'Friday the 13th,' and 'A Nightmare on Elm Street.' Personally, I'm surprised Bay didn't have his company produce The Leprechaun reboot: if any film cried out for his production credit and absurd middle-school humor, that film did.

Ok, I like Bay and all...but I got to say, I hated that Friday The 13th movie weather he is responsible for it or not.

Well, there are directors that, in my opinion, do action far better.
