Holy shit! "You think you were born? You were built and they want you back" This totally screams something along the lines of the Quintessons!

Mark Ryans voice is excellent :p

    Exactly.

This is what I've always thought about the Dinobots.

We'll most likely get reviews after Thursday, since that's the premiere date.

What if galvatron was already sentient though?, like what if he were just controlled by the humans and he thought he was fighting for himself but he actually wasnt he was just being tricked

I'm just still blown away that the entire plot hasn't been blasted out everywhere. I think Wednesday I will make my absence from this site until I see it.

At least in the original G1 continuity there were 13 original primes that were created by Primus. The well of all sparks was created by primus to give birth to the cybertronians. The all spark was created by Primus as an interface between Onyx Prime (with the Triptych Mask) and his own spark as a means of creating unique and sentient beings. Optimus Prime is actually the 13th prime who chose to be reborn after the dynasty of the primes as Orion Pax but still remains in the Matrix if he is ever needed again. Now, I doubt Bay will follow the original creation theory but he maybe taking plot points from it. The quintessons came to cybertron millions of years after their creation by Quintus Prime after many of the remaining primes went there separate ways after there battle with Unicron. The quintessons came to cybertron looking for a ready made labor force and showed them how to access there transformation cogs and made them look like gods in the cybertronians eyes and lead them to believe they were their creators. They were then forced off cybertron by the uprising. So, the quintessons could have "created" lockdown as it is within there technological ability and there are other well of sparks on other planets that the quints could have used to give life to Lockdown and at that point they could have told him anything and it would be taken as gospel. At least in the different story arcs the quints have always wanted the matrix to be used as a master key to vector sigma and then as a tool to control Primus for what ever purpose. But, in the first Bay movie all of the Primes sacrificed themselves to hide the matrix from the Fallen (Megatronus) so that he could not snuff out suns and kill countless planets teaming with life. This would lead to a genetic marker place in a cybertronian to have the potential of becoming a prime when the need arises. I am not sure were Bay is going with all of this but it is not along the lines of the original origin story.

Just my thoughts; interpret as you will.

    Please, please, please!

Because if this bit of dialogue is actually a reference to quintessons, I have to give Bay credit for including this bit of cannon. Even with his history of straying from tf cannon and twisting it horribly so he can make more explosions, IMHO by including the quintessons it would seem like Bay is putting more effort into having a viable plot that focuses more on the tfs and less on the humans.

Humans hired Lockdown. Seems very plausible.

It's edited to make it seem like he's talking to Optimus when he says this. He actually may be talking to someone else. Either way it's pretty interesting!

I'm more of a fantasy guy, so I'm hoping that the twist is that some corrupt TF God created the Transformers to further his plans like a movie Liege Maximo or Furman's Primus. Never liked the Quintessons other than their role in the '86 film. And God forbid should ANYONE mention Primacron or whatever that fish-monkey thing was.

"You think you were born? You were built, and they want you back"-Lockdown

Is Michael Bay making us think of Lockdown's grand scheme? It certainly feels like there's more to him than just "collecting a bounty". We've got Galvatron missing for the first half, Dinobots, Human-made transformers, Lockdown taking Prime, his ambiguous quote, and that huge fight in the factory with a bunch of scenes still not shown yet for spoilers sake.

To quote Brains from DOTM, "This is a total cluster fu-".

Completely agree. I was thinking this earlier and figuring I was going to have to abandon TFW2005 for a few weeks until I see it on the 26th so I don't read what happens.

I grew up with the Quintessons, so I'm alright with it, but I've come to like the Primus angle too. Still, I don't see why both can't coexist. How do know that the Quintessons came to Cybertron and took over during Primus' slumber during Cybertron's infancy?

Whatever the case, the Quintessons coming back to the Transformers universe is an awesome, awesome thing.

My excitement for this movie has now doubled:D

Agreed. Was thinking the exact same thing. Guess I will abandon the site for a week or so, so that I don't find out too much before I can see it on the 26th.

Granted the quintessons never felt like that great of an idea back in g1, and by that I mean it always seemed to me like there was so much missing to them, almost as if they were slapdash thrown in. BUT there is so much that could be done with them, they have so much potential and if they were done right, it could make for some fascinating plot twists.

However, Bay is incredibly good at misdirection; after all Bay did flood so many trailers for DOtM with Shockwave to imply that he was the big baddie to cover up Sentinel. I'm praying to Primus this one little quote is an actual implication of something as big as including the quintessons and not just a throw away line to get our hopes up over nothing. C'mon Bay, please give us a robot centered movie with legitimate TF lore in it and not just another plot focused on crazy humans trying to take advantage of robo-tech they don't understand.
