YES. I want an MP Jazz so much. Definitely my number one choice out of the remaining season 1 bots.

(Well, my most wanted MP of any character would be Bruticus, but that's probably still a pipe dream at this point.)

I think what I'm trying to say is, I think they should keep the lines seperate, that way they could have a victory series of masterpieces going. Yes it was part of g1 in japan, but it did have a subtitle and is treated by most as a sub series. Also, why interrupt the origional character releases with victory characters when you can make two seperate lines and put out more characters faster.

What? It's only treated differently because it never aired in the US.

In Japan, even season 3 had a different subtitle.

I know what you're getting set, but these things are made in Japan, so there's no reason to treat Star Saber any different than Ultra Magnus, other than the fact that he came from a later year of G1.

I'd actually prefer they jump around with the characters, but we all know they won't jump around too much. We're pretty much going to stick with the 1984-5 cast for the most part, as much as it pains me... I'll never see a Masterpiece Doubleheader... (He was never even released in Japan, regardless)

    Doubleheader?
I also meant that for the benefit of victory Fans as well. Having a seperate numbering system would mean more victory characters get released.

That's just about the dumbest thing I've read so far this year.

"Yes, it was part of G1 in Japan..."?

Who do you think has designed and produced EVERY TF Masterpiece figure so far? ALL of the Masterpiece figures are Japanese G1 characters. The fact that most (not all) of them have also been American G1 characters is almost incidental.

Including all Japanese fans, for whom the Masterpiece line is designed and produced in the first place.

Do you think MP Soundblaster should also be part of a different numbering?

No not nesiserily. But, having a different numbering system for headmasters, masterforce, and victory (as in a different numbering system for each) might be better for all involved, as everyone would get the figures they want faster.

But by your system, why wouldn't Soundblaster be part of the "Headmasters" numbering?

And how would anyone get their figures faster? The assumption you're making is that by splitting the line, they'd magically have more people to design figures and more money to produce them.

They did get a seperate designer to work on starsaber, I'm assuming that if they started a seperate numbering system for victory the guy that worked on starsaber would continue in that veign. At the end of the day it's takara's desition and after seeing starsaber I'm fine with whatever they decide (coming from someone who didn't know who starsaber was before 2013).

All I want to know is who will be designing MP-23.

This, I need my doomed shuttle crew. Prowl can't man the shuttle by himself.

And yet we still haven't gotten Sunstreaker, just how long does Takara have that Lambo license for anyway?

Mirage and Jazz are probably the most difficult licensing to get.

For them to release Jazz should not be an issue since they have the VW license but for Mirage,it is still unclear.

Creating a new numbering system doesn't bare any relevance towards getting more Victory MPs, period, let alone with a greater frequency. You appear to be inferring the possibility of a bunch of Victory MPs when there's no indication Takara's willing to release Japanese-originating characters out of Victory, Masterforce or other post-Season 3 G1 characters, let alone in a separate line and have two ongoing MP lines.

(That would be like continuing the Encore line for Season 1-3 stuff but creating a wholly separate reissue line for post-Headmasters releases...why bother?)

Yup. As Southtownkid covered here and in earlier posts, creating new numbering conventions won't get anyone anything faster. That fan poll Star Saber won was for a single MP, not for a line of MPs from a particular cartoon.

The other guy who designed the earlier MPs is on the MP line with Star Saber while Shogo Hasui is working on other stuff.

Yuki-san is doing Star Saber, Kobayashi-san is doing the regular MP line.

I'd say Mirage and Jazz are the toughest licensees to get - at this point. But it is possible they will be easier than Wheeljack or Bumblebee were - those were both considered impossible. Hell even Sideswipe was.

I'd say the biggest challenges for Mirage and Jazz are the inappropriate sponsors - and their logo designs are directly part of the vehicles making it hard just to change the text. But then again TakaraTomy may not see it as an issue.

I think it is likely the biggest challenges at this point are probably:

    1. Mirage (Ligier is rumored to be unfriendly)
    2. Jazz (Have a VW and Lambo, Porsche in the same group but still yet to have one)
    3. Cliffjumper (see above)
    4. Sunstreaker (Countach concept - will Lamborghini approve? As time passes I am getting worried).

Most other characters either have made up modes or come from companies we know will work with TakaraTomy.

I can tell you for sure though, TakaraTomy would not have gone down this road if they didn't think they could complete the cast everyone is wanting to see.

As much as no one saw Wheeljack and Bumblebee coming, or Sideswipe back when he was announced - or Soundwave and tapes - is it possible MP-23 could still be a surprise in the same vein?
