So I found a Nerf gun that I had as a kid (Hyper Sight), but it won't fire the new elite darts. Where can I get some darts that will fire from my old favorite gun?
Try TRU house-brand darts. Cheaply made, but they have the suction heads and should be compatible with about anything that doesn't use a magazine
I started collecting N-Strike Elite last year. Only missing a RapidStrike now, plus some upcoming redecos of existing blasters and more clips. Just opened the Hail-Fire I recently bought on double discount today. Just like I'm opposed to modifying Transformers toys unless it's to fix obvious assembly errors, the only Nerf mod I've done so far is removing the spring from that pesky sensor lock on both the blue and orange version of the Stryfe and gluing the sensor lock permanently in the top position, since I think it still helps stabilizing the darts, even though unmodified it's more of a random trigger lock than anything else. Out of all the nerf guns my son has/have over the years.I still go back to the Maverick every nerf war we have.Chances are we have our lightsabers at the ready to.Its funny watching them try and stop the darts with the swords...although,we have stopped a couple. Not many mind you. Did anyone like or get the beltfeed minigun from a couple years back? It was fun with new batteries(like brand new, even then they would die fast). It cost to much to keep that gun up. The Vortexes are awsome, those little disc haul ass.How is the Mega dart gun? Been looking at that, just not sure. I like the zombie throwing things, those look fun.
If you get a Mega Dart blaster, get the pistol. The Rifle is decent, but has the tendency to mangle ammo if you don't make a full and complete re-load action. The pistol is a beast though. Shoots crazy distances stock and will startle your target when they hear that dart coming a second before it lands. Personally I like the Specter over the Maverick. You lose a round in the chamber, but the reload action is smoother and shoots a bit better in my experience.
The strongarm was my favorite small arm for awhile with the stryfe a close second but now the Hammershot is tops. I just can't say enough about it.
ZOMBIE STRIKE FTW!!! Now if only Hasbro would make some more melee weapons, preferably out of hard plastic and not foam. It could be a whole new line meant to go along with N-Strike and all that. Really wish I had the cash to get more N-Strike guns. Mainly the Stampede, yellow Longshot, and the Whiteout Longstrike. Though I am glad I was able to purchase the Recon again after I returned my previous one. My new one, which I got at the tail end of 2012, was only $8 at Walmart. Really regret selling my Maverick too.
I should have never came into this thread.I walked down the nerf gunslooking for the bow and arrow set(didn't have it) and walked out with the Zombie crossbow. It is really fun and i've been chasing my kids around asking if they have been bite. Then a couple hours later,i went and got a refill zombie set.I like the biohazard marks on it. Whats a good gun that will hold a 30 round mag.Thats how many darts were in the set and would like a gun that could hold them all so i don't have darts everywhere.I've always like that shotgun type thing with the drum clip.
Buying a new blaster just means you'll have even more darts. Your best bet is to either hunt down a large capacity Magazine on Ebay or find some sort of box to store your darts in. Honestly, the latter choice is the better option because long term storage of your darts in the blasters or mags could weaken springs over time.
I have one......well....my brother has one, and I cannot figure how to load all 35 darts. Pushing them in as with normal clips just causes them to be pushed back out. And when I use the dial on the back to rotate the inner part of the drum, it gets caught right before it reaches the end. Am I doing it wrong? If not, it's a piece of crap. EDIT: Yup. I was doing it wrong.
The next comparison: Retaliator original vs. "economy" version, plus an explanation on why "international" packaging is a rather unspecific term! Read more Man, these new fewer-paint-ops variants really blow.
Well I just came into possession of 8 new blasters. For free. I got the Longstrike, Spectre and Raider from my brother a couple days ago, and today I got the Stampede, Titan, Hornet, 1/2 a Longshot (back half/main firing portion) and a dart tag gun from my cousin.
The next comparison: Rampage original vs. "economy" version. Since I'm currently not willing to buy a second Rampage, I'll just stick to comparing the packaging at this point. Read more
Click Click BAMF: NEW NERF Rhino Fire Charges onto the Scene Between this, the Demolisher, the returned Longstrike (depending on new internals or not), and the Clear Shot (I honestly just want the scope), it looks like I'll be spending a lot of money on Nerf this year.
Yeah, I have a pretty huge collection that I use all the time at Parents Night Out at my karate school. I like to have the biggest newest gun to annihilate the kiddos and this bad boy will absolutely be added to my collection. Holy crap...
Now, if only Hasbro would make a line of melee weapons to accompany our favorite blasters, that would be nice.
