We should have a review (test shots) hopefully within a week or two since Arafat said that Kronos ships on the 23rd and a review will be out before it hits retail.

 

Agree 100%. We're waiting for our kronos, scorias, and warbotrons. Gotta kill time somehow, so why not pull each other apart and drag the same issues thru the mud over and over and over again... (Sarcasm... Alucard, put down that shovel... Cracka j, put away the brass knuckles!).  

Anyone else going out this weekend to shop for new display cases? All these releases coming in the span of a few months are taking up a lot of space!

I don't have any more room in my office for more display cases! I have 3 Billy 3 shelf units and 8 Detolfs.

AND THEY ARE ALL FULL. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......

 

I'm running out of room as well, I have room for one more detolf lol.

 

The thing that sucks about the office is that it is a dormer. So I only get 1 real 8 foot wall. The side walls get me a couple of detolfs, and I cannot even fit them on the dormered end.

So this is all I got. These is no way on gods green earth the wife is giving me another room for these. She'd kill me first.

I must agree with everything Alucard has said.

I very much like Optibotimus reviews because he takes the time to show both transformation, and to me, that is key. He can be entertaining too, and I like his takes many of the times (not all the time), and many of his review (not all) and his bluntness in those reviews.

He has some influence on the fans, to a limited degree, but even if the degree of influence is limited, it can still affect fans decisions, and thus caution is highly advised to get the most details of the facts and be specific and present them without giving their own opinion on it (unless asked for), until such time that it can be verified, or dismissed. It takes longer to write and think how to present, but well worth to keep one's reputation and avoid mis-interpretations or flaming.

 

All depends how they look like but I will always try to support HasTak first. If a 3rd party's offering is better then I'll go with them.

I would stick with FT's for this one reason: Gimmicks!
Takara will add some weird gimmick like Grimlock's tail wag -> head turn.
I don't think FT are doing any gimmicks in theirs...

 

Light up gimmicks are gimmicks. FT has not made a MP robot without a gimmick. Although a plus for most fans, they don't include batts & you have to find anoying ones to make them work (with the unlucky few that will have solder issues that Quake sometimes had). It's best to stop comparing FT with DT bc they are not in direct competition when it comes to Dino's. If you want to try to be on topic, compare them in GP threads. I love Dino's but it does get better than that with the possibilities in MP's scale & show accurate modernized being endless. Daca-toys Kronos is so close to coming to fruition, yes!

 

Yeah, but to come into this thread, claim that he had behind-the-scenes info about how this toy had severe QC problems, refuse to provide any facts on what the problems are or who the info came from, then totally back down and feign innocence when confronted?

And Optibotmus knows he has a big enough voice in the fandom that he'll be listened to.

Never did see MP Soundwave out in the wilds of retail. To me, he was more this mythical creation born out of the mysterious void that is the Internet.

I think he tried to help cause he found information, put it out there, and then realized it wasn't taken as help.

Intentional that he wouldn't back up what he said with anything that was actually helpful? Yes.

I don't think he was necessarily being malicious, but when you put out there that a toy has a major QC issue - spread a potentially damaging rumor - then refuse to back it up, it's a dick move.

How big is the problem? Does the toy have loose hips? Does it release a swarm of bees on your face when you transform it?

Some kind of hint there would be actually being helpful. He didn't do that.
He potentially poisoned the well before anyone has actually been able to test the waters.

I mean, in all honesty, I am not sure who his source was, but no final shots have been given out. These haven't even left the factory yet.

So maybe he realized what he said and stepped back from it is all.

The question is why was he told this information by these "friends"? What good do supposed retail store owners get of people cancelling their orders?

The information said: "Every single unit has had a defect".... that is the biggest reason to cancel you could have. It is not something like hips being loose or being unstable. The information is literally saying the product is such a piece of shit that not even one is ok. What other products have ever been described like that before being released??

So again, why let information that will hurt you go public? If Arafat had not come here to kill the fire before in got big then Optibotmus's friends would have lost money due to cancellations.
