You have a great eye for detail! Glad you noticed! I used a Blitzwing head for that Ironhide. He has the same helmet as Ironhide but with an angry facial expression. I just repainted the helmet and face. Some of the Construct-Bots share the same heads -- but with just different colors and expressions, so it's easy to just repaint a head and call it someone else.
Upgrading Existing Transformers Toys with Construct-Bots Pieces. You can easily upgrade existing Transformers toys with Construct-Bots pieces. If a toy has a Mechtech port, a 5mm port, or even a 5mm screw port -- you can easily plug in various Construct-Bots pieces. You can add faction badges, weapon upgrades, make proper feet and hands for combiner figures, etc. A lot of the times, many of the Transformer toys (old and new) share similar colors, so it's easy to mix and match pieces according to color. Here are some recent toy upgrades that I've done...
"Air Evasion" Optimus Prime Upgrade I saw that Evasion Prime had a 5mm peg hole hidden behind his back. Once you pull down the rear back panel, you can expose the 5mm peg hole. I thought it'd be cool to upgrade him with Construct-Bots pieces. I also saw that Battle Command Optimus Prime had a number of 5mm peg holes throughout the trailer. I saw this as a great opportunity to fill them in with missiles and other weapons.
Custom Construct-Bots Ultra Magnus and Custom Construct-Bots Optimus Prime I went back and made some revisions to my Custom Construct-Bots Ultra Magnus. I also made another variation of Jetwing Prime. This is Custom Construct-Bots Optimus Prime Armored Core Version.
pure pure genius man... i just spent the last hour looking over all your customs. not only can you envision stuff, you execute upon it to a T. great great stuff. you have a fan +1.
Simple Construct-Bots Wing Upgrades This is a simple upgrade to standard Transformers toys using Construct-Bots pieces. The Generations Blitzwing/DoubleDealer/Cloud Starscream toy has 5mm peg/screw holes in the rear of the upper arm assembly. I've seen other fans use them to peg-in weapons. Construct-Bots wing pieces have 5mm pegs that allow the attachment of them to the Generations Blitzwing toy...
Combiner Wars Armada Megatron with Construct-Bots Upgrade Nothing fancy here, just a simple upgrade of Combiner Wars Armada Megatron with Construct-Bots pieces to beef him up...
nice nice nice, man. he is indeed beefcake with your upgrades see... this is how they should cross-sell their products.
Custom Shockwave Transformers Construct-Bots First off, thanks to the previous comment, Knockoff. I appreciate the compliment. Now here's my latest -- a custom SHOCKWAVE Transformers Construct-Bots figure. I came across the toy on clearance at my local Toys R Us today. I've been looking for this toy for over a year, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it today, and on clearance nonetheless. It was kind of bitter sweet putting it together. Sweet, because I really dig the Shockwave character, and bitter, because this could be the last Construct-Bots figure I make unless Hasbro brings back the line. I really wanted to stray from the stock design that the instruction manual provided. Luckily, I had enough leftover pieces from other sets to make something a little bit different, but still recognizable.
Evasion Prime had a 5mm peg hole hidden behind his back. Once you pull down the rear back panel, you can expose the 5mm peg hole. From there, you just figure out a way to peg your jet pack into it, using a different assortment of Construct-bots pieces. It's been 9 months since I did that mod, and since then I took apart the various jetpacks I've made, so I couldn't really help you out with what specific pieces I used. I apologize for that. BUt I hope you find some of this useful.
New 2016 Custom Construct-Bots Here are some of the newer custom Construct-Bots I've completed this year. Thanks for checking this out. ~Lou B.
