smart! though i wanted it not to have a gap so i cut the tab out and filled it up a bit. turns out if you mix testors model masters gold and orange, you get grimlock's copper.

All I can think when I see that picture is a joke I made in my webcomic where Classics' Grimlock tried that with Movie Wheelie... and Wheelie proceeded to hump Grimlock's head. "GRIMLOCK IS BEING VIOLATED!"
I have a feeling that is Movie Wheelie tries that with this Grimlock, Grimlock is going to be the one doing some violating.
so the deluxe dinos have the little hole that seems to be for using stands located in places that seem useful for that purpose. Voyager Grimlock has the same hole inside the dino head. the two top haves of the head cover the hole completely in dino mode. any idea what it's for on Grimmy?
you mean this peg? well, it would serve the same purpose, for stands AND maybe someone could do a flame for it to come out of his mouth in dino mode
that would be the one. I'm thinking that in robot mode there's no way that's going to hold him suspended on a stand (hopefully I'm wrong). That piece, on mine at least, is to weak to hold him up. As for using it for flames in dino mode, there's no way I can find to get to the hole without splitting the head apart one way or another.
My question got ignored ;__; Also, as alternative to this, anyone know good sword weapon for Grimmy that can be stored in his dino mode?
Got this guy earlier in the week and I must say, I quite like him. Yeah, the fact he can't actually hold his weapon properly is balls, but the figure itself is great. I've been fiddling with him every day.
I like the toy. It looks really cool in robot mode...dinosaur mode is sorta let down. It should at least have bigger tabs to hold the tails together
Great thing about grimmy, as long as you peg his knees securely to the back of his robot chest, you can jam just about any sword between his legs and the friction will hold with there. Anyway heres a pic with the CB sword. I like it a lot more than my previous setup with the FoC grim sword. Gives a nice bit of length to the tail, and looks pretty streamlined as well. You can get a few different configurations depending on where you have the tail hold it together. If your grim has loose tabs like my first one did, I found putting some nail polish in the receiving portion of the tabs tightened them right up.
Does the color match as well as it's appearing to in your pictures? If so, dammit, I might have to go pick up a Constructbot Grimlock..
I think it matches alright, in hand its a little more orange, and the grey is slightly darker than the voyager. But the weapon is pretty great, and it comes with some nice parts. You can even build a tail extension for Leader Grimlock that looks pretty sweet: Id say it a pretty good deal for $10
Ok, so maybe someone else has figured this out... If you don't like Grimlock's jaw hanging off his butt AND don't mind a backpack, there is a way to transform him to remove it. There is a rotating joint on the main part of the bottom jaw/dino neck. You have to be very careful and need to rotate the legs a bit to do it, but it is possible to rotate Grimlock's lower jaw up so it sits flush with his upper back. The problem is that now he has a clear backpack. I have attacted both the standard and the new version. I personally prefer the official version but thought there might be people that would rather do this.
