wow. um... the colors...they look....average? well not horrible, but I mean they included the color errors from the show.  

A red bumper? that's just....dumb. :/

I most definitely Prefer my digibashes over the final colors.




But, I still want to buy it....but now I'm tempted to see if Hasbro's version looks better.

Really tho the wait for UM and bee and jack is killing me! And Star Saber as well.

For me with those and scoria and kronos, heck its like a golden age for collecting imo.

The red bumper wasn't an error. It was like that every single time Magnus's vehicle mode appeared. It's just an artistic choice made by whoever designed his animation model, like Red Alert's red helmet or whatever.

 

As far as I can tell, the show had no color errors. It was cartoony perfection, red bumper and all.

 

I hope it's a red chrome bumper in the final production version, honestly. I think that addresses my innate desire for a chromed bumper, with cartoon accuracy.

But, at least I was "mostly" right with how the colors would come out.

 

That is perfect. If TT can make two small changes to make it look like this I will be happy.

 

Ugh, red bumper. The hits just keep coming for me, kinda wish I hadn't paid up front for this guy now. Looks like I'll be keeping mine boxed up until I see the Hasbro version.

I just don't get TT. They give toy colored face, but cartoon accurate bumper. They give cartoon white thighs, but toy accurate lower legs. Pick one or the other, for the deco, dammit.

 

Looks like a big swab of lipstick on his "face" when in vehicle mode. Kind of not that good looking really.

 

Lol I love the red front bumper. The proportions are also growing on me.....we just need a seperate white Prime release and everything is perfect  

 

I don't think the reason was purely because of an artistic choice. The reason for the red bumper on the truck mode was to suggest that the bumper became Magnus's waist piece in robot mode. Just like how Rodimus's crotch piece is clear, suggesting that it became the windshield in his vehicle mode. Even though the original toys did not transform this way, they were designed this way to add some continuity into the original animation models.

 

Sigh... whoever keeps messing with the unpainted one at the show has left the wrong wheels out in alt mode again. Can't get the staff.

 

 

Figured out why those parts are purple on Magnus' prototype. They're parts that are shared with Optimus (as we know) and they're unchromed / unpainted parts from when they produced a test shot of EVA Optimus.

The purples match.

Rather, I have sent them an email requesting to cancel it. I'll wait and see what happens. It was my understanding that I could cancel it so long as it was within 60 days of ordering. Maybe I'm wrong.

If I am, so be it, but I'm just not that impressed with the finished article. The Magnus I remember from the UK comics struggling with a crazy Galvatron on top of a volcano was tall and athletic. This looks dumpy like the G1 toy. The back flap is completely unnecessary. The empty legs look silly, he has a fat head and overly large chin and the red bumper looks silly. I just think they could have done better.

As I said before, I would now prefer to wait and see the finished thing in the flesh before purchasing. I am not one to buy and flog on for a profit. That is a path I don't want to go down. It's scalping and I hate it.

On that latest photo it doesn't look like there's any substance to the fuel tanks in vehicle mode, just a flat plate.
