I've already paid for Scoria and Soar at Ace's and CP respectively, but even so, the closest I would come to that is Aliexpress. Almost jumped on that insane sale, but couldn't quite do it.

Sorry, not feelin' Grimlock's feet weave. It's Nice they give him a taller, more in scale look, but they're so destracting to me.

Scoria, on the other hand, is super-freakin-awesome!

Have you seen or touched quake wave? He easily owns Has/Tak any day of the week. Even if an official was made, yeah he may be more purple with paint defects or have more accurate floppy legs but I doubt he'd come close quality wise.

I think the Takara version would be alright. But yeah, the Hasbro version would probably be orange with racing stripes, loose joints, and stress marks. The only complaint that I have with this figure being third party, is that there is no Autobot emblem, which is understandable, and very minor. In my opinion, this is the first third party offering that truly looks the part of Masterpiece.

Two ocean decals later, it looks no different than any other mp toy... But seriously, have you touched quakewave? That is a beast of a transformer! It rivals mp01 in solid build quality. Ft has hit it out of the ball park consecutively, and it looks like their batting average is only going up... Soar prototype and sever art look stunning!

^^^THIS!!! Don't make the mistake of sleeping on Fanstoys like I did with Quakewave. I waited until all 3 runs were sold out until I finally got to mess around with one my friend had and I instantly got on the hunt to track him down and ended up paying about $50 over retail. But everytime I pick that figure up, I don't even think about how much I paid. He's that good in my opinion and I have no doubt Scoria leave the same impression on me, except I'm getting him at retail this time :)

Scoria is nice and all but I hope one day we'll get some good deluxe-voyager sized classics Dinobots :)

Well take it how you want to but when I brought the subject of ordering Swoop before receiving Slag and my displeasure with that, I was told this in the FT Swoop thread.

I don't have Quakewave, but I don't want him. There too many design choices that I don't like. I don't doubt that he is high quality, he's just not for me.

Indeed my friend, they are not even halfway there though, but as a fact I think the FOC style dinobots fit the bill.

Couldn't agree more. After I got the last Quakewave out of BBTS it just blew the TT MP's away with weight, build & joint quality. Quakewave was $175 & TT Grimlock was $199, QW is twice the toy for less money. Grimmy looks great don't get me wrong but the build quality isn't there compared to FansToys so I had no hesitation pre-ordering Soar & Sever. Plus I don't pay a cent till it arrives at the BBTS dock so I don't have the issue with the production delays the a lot seem to have in this thread that pay up front.

I you want a MP style Shockwave figure people...GET QUAKEWAVE! you won't be disappointed.

As an mp collector, I've made it a priority to buy at least one of each mold. The thing about Quakewave is that even if they make an official mp Shockwave I'll be really torn about needing to buy it. QW is just that good. I sold my fp springer after the generations version was released, so I'm not hating on official product.

As for Scoria, I think the potato jokes are stupid and originated from someone who forgot what a triceratops looks like. I think the Giga toys look okay, but I'd rather have something a tad smaller and awesome than an upscaled G1 from an unproven company. Plus if TFC taught us anything it's that large toys need good joints. I just don't buy into the hype. Also, we still don't have a price point, preorder or colored prototype. See you in 2015! Oh, he fixed the tail coz you bitched about it? Here's the line for sainthood. So what if FT put up preorders for a sketch. It's better than a black outline. Don't preorder yet if you're pissed. Nobody's forcing your hand. Scoria's not perfect, but he looks really, really good. I for one am eagerly awaiting his arrival. End of rant.
