I think what Al is trying to say is stop clicking "preorder" buttons based on hype. Decide if it's a piece you really are wanting or not, despite how others may sway or what news may come. If you are unsure about a product, don't be click happy, or order from a retailer that allows you to cancel without consequences. If there's doubt, wait.

I don't think that's preaching or trying to teach anyone a lesson. It's pretty common sense.

I mean the simple option just requires to wait if you have a cancel free preorder. FT has one in store so save your money until then and wait. No pitchforks or torches required.

1000 units or not, you guys decide whether or not to spend your money. Nobody is forcing it out of your wallet.

:lol  You're skills really sealed the deal. I've been a big supporter of Kronos for quite some time until the latest backpackgate and had been teetering back and forth.

    Appreciate it.

Hope all those still in it enjoy Kronos, and hopefully Arafat will still release Titan at some point. Still looking forward to that.

That's actually not bad advice, just waiting until solid reviews are up before ordering. I used to feel like I had to preorder everything or I might miss out. But there are very few items that run out of stock right away, never to make a comeback.

I think he's learned not to jump the gun on hot new toys, and maybe is trying to pass on a little wisdom so others don't have to make the same expensive mistakes he used to.

Ok let's ask another question. What if these "hooks" break or their tolerances are not exact? My opinion is that the legs will start to sag or sag completely just like on the 1/48th scale yamato valkyrie. Unless there are some others post that i cannot see in the picture...

I totally get that and agree if that is his underlying point. On the other hand, critical evaluation of whether something is for you or not can be difficult with these drawn out development cycles and the pace of information reveals.

That said, I do think there has always been an element of deliberate perceived scarcity with Kronos, for whatever effect that has had on preorders and folk's later perceptions as details emerge.

I don't think 1,000 units is quite as limited as we might think. It's not like there's a huge demand for unofficial MP styled Skyfire figures.

Not trying to be preachy, but here is the thing, why is none of this expected? This is a brand new company, that no one knows anything about. So why is any one surprised by any of this stuff.

I mean the thing has equal chances being the best figure we have ever seen or the worst figure we have ever handled.

So preordering on a company we know nothing about you are taking that gamble willfuly.

As for the number of threads started, live and learn. Hence why I have not jumped on a lot of preorders since the M3 incident.

As for my complaining, please note how my complaining tends to be about 1 of 2 issues. Quality and or cost.

The complaining on here I have seen goes from:
    - Wrong red
    - Too white
    - Wrong head color
    - No landing gear
    - Parts forming
    - Not answering questions fast enough

and I am sure that I missed a couple.

For me personally, I beat the same drum over and over and over again. Give us quality and acceptable prices.

Everyone else I see is complaining of every little detail expecting it to cater to their own individual wants and likes. When it doesn't live up to it, they complain because they have a preorder in.

Well, why have a preorder in if you expect those things.

Yeah, but that is the risk you take. Ever buy a gen 1 xbox 360 and have it fry on you in days.

Plus, it is all speculation. To this day, you can still go on most sites and preorder Kranos.

Bingo. M3 taught me a really big lesson on that one.

If they break, then you should contact your retailer and get a replacement or have them refund you, if at all possible.

When you think about it, it's not too hard to imagine a robot transforming with some parts detaching and reattaching, Super Sentai or Brave style. It's been done before. It's just not something you'd expect from G1 Skyfire.

Shit I look at most of my Hasbro figures as Partsformers. Shit, the way the joints were made recently, on some figures you cannot get through a transformation without a joint falling off.

Most of the people complaining were never gonna get it bro. If you did search history these are the same people saying they will wait till the Generations IDW figures go on sale before purchasing them because they are too pricey. It's like me going into a Ferrari forum to complain about the leather interior of some car I'll never purchase. Some pople just love to complain. It really is as simple as that.

Are you telling me that the backpack must come off for transformation?!!?
Reminds me of every third party add-on kit on my shelves now.
I am going to have my Kronos holding Huff in his arms like a little baby! lol
Be it months or weeks, I am still pumped for the day Kronos arrives on my porch.

I preordered on quakewave, which for me was a HUGE gamble, being the price, and unknown quality, and quakewave was my first venture into the sick, twisted world of 3p. With the amount of "whew, we dodged a bullet here" posts, I quickly realized how rare a piece he was. When I first saw kronos last year, I blew him off completely. When I saw the posts of the 2nd design, I started taking notice, but was uneasy. Your (Alucard) comments on seeing the 2nd prototype helped levy some of my unease, tho I still had reservations. I decided to put faith in daca like I did FT. Quakewave is still my favorite toy, hands down. I was hoping lightning strikes twice.

Fast forward 3 months, I'm still glad I preordered. While some fears are gone, others have emerged, overall the plus far outnumbers the minus. And transformation issues really don't bother me for the simple reason that I will probably transform him at most 3 times. Mp10 I transformed once. Mp13 never was transformed, coz I got a crappy one from Takara that came to me stressed. Mp11-Thundercracker, twice, mp08, 12, 17, 03, 15, 16 each once. Kronos will stand there, godlike, in the background watching over his car brethren. His backpack unmoving.

Partsforming on a MP-level toy is not something you'd expect from any company, official or 3rd party, old or new. It caught us by surprise.

Good luck getting a new Masterpiece Megatron that doesn't parts-form...

    ?

The original MP Megatron didn't partsform, so there's absolutely no reason for the new one to partsform either.

Robot mode I don't like. Shoulders are too high, waist too narrow. Love the rex mode tho. He's my favorite looking mp. I got the Asia reissue. Week before ae was announced, I ALMOST paid $325 for him on ebay.... Held off, ordered the ae. Saw the hasbro reissue, and I'm glad I spent the extra on ae... Hasbro one looks off to me.

From my view of the figure at the NJCC it was beautiful. I don't think that changed, at least not to my eye.

There was no way to tell quality cause it is a test build. But looks alone convinced me to purchase.

I guess. But Quakewave had it, even if it is cartoon based. And not all MPs follow the screen transformation exactly. Personally I was wondering how Quakewave would handle it.

MPs tend to be more inconsistent then consistent. I think MP UM pretty much taught us this.

If you order the silencer kit, it does (which is the only way to be cartoon accurate with alt mode)
