THAT could be a really cool story.

Hell, go back a little farther and the Irish weren't counted as "white" either. It's a definition that has changed over time.

I'm getting worried about Batwoman, 31k sales a year ago and since DC started screwing with it so much and changing creative teams its down to just under 20k, close to cancellation levels. Real shame because I think Andreyko is doing a better job in some ways. It's dropped further in sales than Catwoman which is nowhere near as good.

The same thing can be said for most DC titles.

The same thing is true of Green Lantern. I think Geoff Johns had run out of steam by the end, and Vendetti has been a breath of fresh air, but sales are way down on that book since Johns left. Not that it seems in any danger of cancellation at this point at 45,000 last month, but it's dropped a lot from a year ago and two years ago.

But as Tekkaman says, that's true of just about every DC book.

the "Mafia" isint the only organized crime group around.
even the Mafia has had to change with the times.
besides, maybe this imagined characters family were tied to the Mexican drug cartels. If so it would allow for a very similarly motivated back story.

I picked up the final issue of Forever Evil so now I can finish this awful story arc.

He still faked his death, so the end result is the same, but yeah, it's a shame that a lot of that was not used. It seemed like a really good send off. (and had some interesting retcons of retcons)

Most people at CBR agree that this should have been Nightwing #30, while the book we actually got, should have been Grayson #0.

So I finally read all of Forever Evil over the last two days and it was mediocre at best. There were some enjoyable parts, such as Deathstroke's paycheck conversation with Luthor, Cold's song to voice activate his Cold Gun (along with the outcome) and the fight between Sinestro and Power Ring, but as a whole, it was just stupid. The Justice League was knocked out for the entire thing, making their use of the CSA pointless. Batman and Catwoman seemed poorly written, and once again, if you don't follow any of the other stories, you have no idea what the hell is going on. It seemed like there was no semblance of time at all. Did the whole thing take place in the span of a day? A few months? And why did one group say that Earth 3 was destroyed by Darkseid and then they show the Anti-Monitor as being the one who destroyed it? Plus, the whole Alexander Luthor thing being evil was also annoying as the whole point of Earth 3 is to have everyone be the opposite of what they are on Earth 1. Finally, the entire thing seemed to just be made to lead into another multi cross over big event series. ARGH!!! What happened to nice one issue stand alone stories? Why can't we get a bunch of those before we got into another huge event? I give Forever Evil a 2/5 stars.

There are only two things that came out of Forever Evil that I actually liked. Luthor and Bizzaro's interaction was fantastic. I hope once we get done with Future's End, if we end up back at 5 years after Forever Evil (since it said it would take 5 years to grow another clone), I want some wacky adventures between the two.

The second was Batman showing interest in Wonder Woman. Ever since the DCAU, I've loved the idea of an on-again, off-again relationship between Bruce and Diana. His brains and want for anonymity, and her brawn and public persona make for a great forbbiden love story. But one the two can put it behind them for a time for the good of the team compared to Nu52 Clark.

Also, now with the whole Grayson thing, anyone hope at the finale of Future's End, Terry ends up a man without a future to return to and becomes the new Nightwing?

So is it just me, or is Future's End pretty much just Days of Future Past in the DC world?

Similar in concept, but no way does it come any close to being as good as DoFP. Batman isn't even in the present! He's 5 years in the future.

Action Comics 32 was good nice to see Steel, Atomic Skull and Metallo hopefully they all stick around for longer.

Interestingly enough Metallo's design didn't bother me that much here I prefer the Metal Skeleton look and I guess they sort of hinted they might go back to that style because he was electrocuted and it showed his skull.

I love that they're adding Terry to the new 52 books, but it makes me wonder, what all about him is considered canon? Everything from the shows and previous comics he's been in? or just certain things?

I'd love to be getting Future's End as it comes out, but I'm afraid that I can't keep up with a weekly series. Not sure if I'll try and get all the singles for it, or just wait for the trades of it. The trades would be easier to handle, but I would like to say that I've got all the single issues of at least one series. Even one like this which has a planned end-date.

We've not really delved into Terry's backstory yet. He's still mentored by Bruce in the future, yet the circumstances of that future are significantly different (for one thing, it's a Brother Eye-run dystopia).

I didn't like the FCBD #0 issue of Future's End one bit, as it was a bleak, soul-crushing, death/dismemberment-filled grimdark-a-thon of the highest order (Mark Waid aptly described it as the "New 52est 'New 52' comic E-V-E-R"), yet as the series has gone on, it's really started to grow on me. I'm really looking foreward to September, and to finding out more about the 5-years-laterworld the series is taking place is.

To think DC's intention on creating a reboot was to have a lighter continuity to entice new readers, and here we are 3 years into the reboot and already dealing with possible alternate realities and flash forwards/time travel with multiple versions of several characters as main storylines. You'd think DC was a certain politician that a certain side doesn't like, no matter what they do they get criticized for it.
