I think a 200x He-Man would sell pretty well. I don't think I'd pop on it, but if there was a 200x Skeletor, I'd be all over that, because he was bad ass.

But none of that until I get a Frank Langella Skeletor.

I'd prefer 200x Skelly before Langella. Although that would be cool. Y'know for all the crap that movie gets, they really actually did do a good job on the Skeletor make up. IMO.

Also, apparently Cyborg, with Jean-Claude Van Damme was the sequel.

So if MOTUC isn't the definitive versions of these characters/toys, then what would an MP He-Man look like?

Also, I let people play with my toys too, but I draw the line at out and out destruction, unless I have spares for customizing purposes. Also, I guess I really shouldn't rag on you too much for SW. After all, I'm the guy who bought a mint, SEALED, pre-rub original G1 Thundercracker and opened it, put the stickers on and transformed it.

12 Inch scale, Filmation, Toy, NA and 2002 Power Swords. 2002 head, NA head (with removable helmet), regular head and a movie inspired head. Armour add ons for 2002, Battle Armour Flying Fists and Thunder Punch. Full wrist articulation (along with tons of other articulation) to allow him to hold the power sword aloft properly. Maybe even some 2002 styled armours if I was going nuts like Snake Armour, Ice Armour, Wolf Armour... maybe a cloth cape to create your own future King He-Man.

I couldn't do 12". I don't want my Masters standing as tall as my MP TFs. Also, not nearly enough room in my house. 6" is where it's at. Plus that means I can integrate all my lines into one shelf. As it is, I've got my MOTUC standing with my DCUC, Marvel Legends, NECA and Star Wars Black Series figs.

I have this massive universe cross-over storyline brewing in my head. Trust me, it would turn out to be some of the worst fanfic you've ever read.

We already have the 200X Power Sword. Even though I hate that sword design, I would welcome a 200X He-Man in MOTUC form. I'd also like a Filmation version with darker tan, Filmation colors, and cartoon accurate head. Same with Filmation Skeletor. But I'd be happy with a 200X Skeletor as well. That was a cool design. I'm talking MYP accurate complete with cape. 200X has gotten the short-end of the stick in MOTUC, which sucks.

I canibilized my Keldor, BA Skeletor and Molarr Skeletor to make the a 2002 inspired Skeley. Same with King GS and He-Man to make a kinda 2002 He-Man but I long for official ones. Le sigh.

I really wouldn't get into a 12" line. He-Man figures going for $200+ would just be too much and it would defeat the purpose of the line being both collector and kid friendly.

Articulation has come a ways since the line debuted though. It would be nice to have some better tilting ankles and wrists.

That's the point I was trying to make - the moment sales is done via online it was catering to adult' collectors - regardless of the 'type' and 'cost' of the materials such as die-cast. IMO (and its obvious) that the Horsemen were used to add 'value' to the online sales model. It also gives a company an excuse to charge higher prices.

The DCUC line was originally known as the DC Superheroes and back then the cast was pretty limited to Superman and Batman characters. It was until Mattel paid for the 'Master Licence' rights that the line up 'exploded'. Heck, I still remember the excitement and fans were speculating on the characters that the Horsemen would sculpt.

Now that perceived 'value' of the DCUC line has dropped at the retail level, one can clearly see the lack of the Horsemen's involvement. E.g. 52 Darkseid.

Outside of Mattel's MOTU Classics, the only 'western' company I can think of that uses the online method of selling is Sideshow and its products are generally geared towards - adult collectors.

Same here. I'm satisfied with what has been released and the rest of the remaining vintage figures that are yet to be released are mere 'bonus' to me i.e. I can live without them.

I don't think anyone is arguing against the fact that Mattel is marketing the line to us, just that marketing aside, the line is really no different than any other highly-articulated 6' inch figure line found at retail.

It was my understanding that DC Unlimited was sculpted by the Horsemen, just like unfortunately the Total Heroes line is also. Darkseid was just a clunker, and even DCSH/DCUC had those.

Just goes to show that if online is the only determination for if a line is "collectors" then we need to re-evaluate what a collector line actually is cause there is no comparison between sideshow and MOTUC.

And this is not to say that a collector's line cannot be at retail, but the term "collector" is applied far too loosely by these companies. I mean, look at the DC Multiverse line, slightly increased articulation and some nostalgic movie choices sure, but I'd hardly call that a collector's line.

What parts did you use from BA Skeletor and Mo-Larr Skeletor?

Yeah, IMO Mattel really exploited the 'collector' angle. That's why I refused to buy the DC sub despite wanting characters like Doomsday? Why should I pay more for figures where quality is on par to that of those found at retail?

As for the 52 Darkseid...if its really the Horsemen's work, I'm stumped. On the other hand, it could that they were forced to use MOTU buck. The DCSH version and the BAF were so beautifully sculpted with decent articulation.

I just used the Skeletor's body for the Molarr set, and the BA Skeletor's head because the paint apps are way nicer on it than the standard one. Right not it's Molarr Skeletor's body with the armour and cape from Keldor, the Keldor swords from the weapons pack, the head from BA Skeletor and finally the havok staff from the Unnamed One for a little pizazz.

That did not seem to happen where I live. A lot of the figures were not going for much more than the $10.60 on Ebay anyway (Carnivus, Flipshot, Sy-klone, etc.) I showed up on shipment days and nobody was waiting outside ready to charge in and grab them. Other than me, Nobody really gave a shit, frankly.

I know I did not walk away with much when the smoke had cleared. They had no trade value, and I didn't like most of the vintage remakes (Clawful, Cyclone, Leech, etc.)

I basically got an Adam, a Marzo, an Adora, and a Moss Man for my collection. And a few weapons and accessories that I kept while getting rid of the figures they came with (MO-LARR, Faceless One). I returned some (Man-E-Faces, katra, Grizzlor) and sold some of them at slightly over cost.

The price was really nothing to scream about. It was a much better deal when they were getting in DCUCs a few weeks before that. Those were only $5. You could sell the BAF pieces and basically keep the figures as freebies. I still have my free Nekkron. :)

My Big Lots stores still have Vigo's sitting around collecting dust...

I happened to be traveling up and down the east coast during that time, and pretty much every Big Lots I hit had sold their entire stock to one person the day that they came in. I only scored at 3 stores. One had just opened their doors the day that I showed up, the other got their shipment in late after all the furor had started, and the last one had a toy section that looked like Baghdad the day after, so one literally had to dig through piles of toys to find them. That, and they seemingly had more Adoras than any one community could ever hope to consume. Ghostbusters didn't last here either, and we never saw the DCUC.

Of the three that were immediately near me, only two had them, one had an endless sea of Megators and Mo-Larrs, but the other one was the one where I actually got anything I wanted. I picked up Moss Man and Adora, they also had Marzo and the Faceless one. I also know at one point one of them had Orko with Adam because I bought it from an aftermarket toy store here for $20. I was still pretty happy with that because even though I knew it was %100 mark up from BL, it was still WAY cheaper than the $45 plus shipping Matty would have charged. So yeah, there was some scalping here but I guess it was only major vintage characters. Sort of, even Moss Man and Adora shelf warmed for a bit.

In my country there were selling literally hundreds of factory rejects Andora and Mossman. No joke! Please don't ask me how they acquired because I have no idea but other than that there have been no other characters.

One 'gentleman' I used to know claims that Mattel now loads their shipments straight aboard their trucks and aboard ships to avoid further 'misappropriation'. No idea if its true but since then, loose MOTU and WWE figures have 'dried up' in my country.

Sorry about the quality on top of it being the least exciting picture ever, used my cell phone.

Edit: I was thinking about changing it to the mini comics style head that came with DemoMan.

I sold off most of the Ghostbusters I found at BL, loose. How many versions of Ray does a person need?

Well, I kept one, of course (Marshmallow mess), one Vigo, and all the ghosts I was able to obtain. In a lot of ways I enjoyed those more than the MOTUC figures. The accessories are WAY better and so is the packaging, heh.
