At best the movie would only warrant a 40-50% rating from critics. Visuals effects has always been a strong suit of bay-formers but critics don't truly buy into that, critics place a far greater emphasis on the script, pacing etc and the story-telling elements in transformer movies had always been sub-par..

They'll probably give it a 33%. Critics hate Transformers and they hate Bay, so there isn't much hope for them. As long as the fans like it/rate it highly, then who cares what the critics think.

Hopefully just enough to be considered "fresh." Doubt that will happen, though.
I know I should just ignore critics when it comes to movies like this but I can't help but be bothered by their opinions.
I'll try to avoid looking at reviews/ratings of this movie because I'm scared that anything negative I read about it will be stuck in my head throughout my viewing, thus causing my brain to automatically look out for and pick out the "negative" things the whole time. I want to have fun watching this thing, for Primus' sake!

Cut that in half, and you have a reasonable number.

LOL, I highly anticipate the shit storm of critic-bashing that is going to happen here very very soon. I've got my theater popcorn ready.

My guess is somewhere around 25-30%. Critics hate Bay and the last 2 were both under 30 if I remember.

I remembered when a critic wrote a negative comment about The Dark Knight Rise that a fan threatened him and that critic was on RT imagine if the critics hate the film and the audiences love it and one of the fans will threaten one of the critics and something huge happens

Honestly, critics are stupid. They should be unbiased. Why do the movies get somewhat lousy ratings? Because Michael Bay directed it, because it's an action movie, because this guy is in it, because--because--because. It's all excuses. If they were unbiased, I'm sure their ratings would be 70-80%, not 30-40%.

Ain't gonna exceed TF1's. Way too many critics would rather eat shit than eat crow at this point.

I can't stand consumer style reviews. Giving me a number of stars and a one sentence summary doesn't get me into your mindset.

I agree. This movie could be as good as inception and will still be in the 40s or 30s because critics are biased and forced into rating it bad simply because of Bays name.

    30% 40%.
Even if this film is on the same level The Avengers was, people have an irrational hate for bay.
Out of topic, I always thought Dwayne Johnson was in Michael Bay movie "The Rock". :dunce

I'm thinking 70% to be honest.

If they gave Godzilla a 70% then this should be around the same.

It's honestly hard to say. We're more than likely to be treated to some really good early reviews like DOTM had, so, I'm going to screenshot those immediately.

Hell, amongst top critics, the first movie ranked out at a 70%. According to the rules on the site regarding whether it's "Certified Fresh" or not, it should be "Certified Fresh" amongst the top critics since it got more than five positive reviews there, but, you know.

Anyways, I'm going to go out and say 60% to 70%.

    Yes, girl.
