Release dates for me are like best case scenarios... It's the target date if the world was perfect... I think of them as "have your money ready by..." dates.
Long as I have the $ by the release date, if it comes out after, I'm fine, as I usually pay my preorders in advance anyway. The money has been budgeted.

So the delays don't affect me financially, it's more like a movie... If I see so many movie commercials that I feel I've seen the whole movie (anchorman 2) it drains me of excitement for the actual movie, since I've seen the best parts already... However, if I've only seen one or two commercials prior to release, like x-men DoFP, when I saw the movie, it was exhilarating.

Kronos and scoria are like anchorman 2... Lots of promo, but nothing to hold onto. Quakewave was prototype January, reviews February, in hand march. Perfect. We've been spoiled. Time for starship tfw3p2005 to come to land.

I'm fine with the way my cheap Hasbro toys are already. When I look at them my mind imagines them being the way they are on screen. Kind of like when hungry cartoon animals look at a person and instead see a talking piece of meat.

I actually learned my lesson and stopped buying transformers durning the empty times. Had too many shitty TFs I didn't need.

So what I have done in the quiet times this year is get GI Joes. Haven't been disappointed yet.

Like I said a number of pages back...I think Quakewave was largely a product of FT keeping tight lipped about it till it was practically done and ready to go after how their Soundwave project turned out. They were talking about Soundwave for like a year and then got burned. They've been more open about Scoria and it's also been delayed a couple months now. It seems more rare than not for a 3rd Party figure to make its projected release date if pre-orders go up before the product is largely ready to go.

    this ˆˆˆ

you can always add a nice Joe, possibly ARAH or modern era if you are late to the game. beats this retail TF stuff nowadays…

i mean there may be some retail tfs that you target and hunt to purchase, but if you just randomly walk in and grab something that is on the shelf in order to satisfy a plastic crack addiction… chances are you will wind up with a lot of...

Yup. Hasbro TFs are not cheap. And they are pretty crappy to be honest. The only crappy figures I don't mind buying are the G1 reissues. That's about as far as I'll take it.

I like zfarsh's idea though. Repainting figures is fun and rewarding. Also building dioramas for GI Joe. :thumb

I started collecting MOTUC to get me through the tough times, especially since only doing MP and some 3rd party, lots of downtime, and lots of catching up with the MOTUC line

I wish Hasbro would do some more G1 reissues, there are still a lot of ones we never got in the states that came out overseas.

LOL, haha, the mind is indeed a very powerful engine. Wish mine was more powerful though, it could save me alot of money. I take a pen or eraser, and see Kronos instead, and BAM, 165$ saved!!! :p

There are so many quality third-party offerings forthcoming that I appreciate the lull. I bought the spinosaur and ill get the takara evasion mode op but aside from that NONE of the movie toys move me. Which is good because there are MPs and mp scaled Dinobots and stuff to buy.

A G1 Scorponok reissue with a remolded head sculpt like Omega Supreme would suit me just fine.
