If I wanted to start a megazord collection, doesn't matter if it's Japanese or American, what would be some of the best to start out with?. is there a pretty good consensus on say, a top five for me to go after? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I have my eye on Shogun Megazord at the moment.

Try collecting the Wildforce/GaoRanger megazords. They look great and some even have plenty of diecast in them. Very little differences between the American and Japanese counterparts as well. The Mystic Force/Magiranger stuff is neat too.

I'd say the Shogun Megazord is flawed because of the change in colour for the two arms which make it rather inaccurate to the TV show (for the most part). A good starting point is probably the Legacy Megazord and Dragonzord. They look great.

Thanks for posting pictures! It's good to see the height difference between the Dragonzord and Megazord isn't that substantial! :)

The original Dragonzord is actually shorter than the original Megazord as well.

I have both of them on display right now, but once my Legacy Dragonzord arrives next week I may have decided if I want to put my Legacy Zords on display or keep the vintage ones out.

so i just got my first power rangers figures in 20 years, legacy megazord, dragonzord and an sh figuarts green ranger.

got megazord from a local pawn shop and the other two i just ordered after picking him up. When i was younger i had the dragonzord and green ranger but dreamed of getting megazord. now that dream has come true, lol. i'll pick up the other rangers soon enough and reprolabels for megazord.

So are the Legacy Zords hitting retail? I may have to stop by my local TrU tomorrow.

Clarification: The Legacy Dragonzord is starting to see release. The Legacy Megazord has come and gone. Canadian TRUs seem to have some leftover stock, but the US is out. BBTS has the Megazord, but it's well over $100.00 there.

Just got the legacy Dragonzord. Have both legacy Megazord and Dragonzord still sealed in the boxes, only buying these because I was into mmpr when I was a kid. I haven't bothered to open them because neither really 'wows' me, though the Dragonzord is starting to tempt.

As a MP TF collector, and seeing as we're on a TF board, I have to ask: do PR fans really enjoy the toys they get? I know simply from this board that there are always nitpickers no matter how well made something is, but when I compare MP transformers to the higher quality Megazords, like those $90 non legacy import looking ones that are clogging the TRU shelves, there's really no comparison. TFs have better articulation, transformations, detail, etc... And when it comes to the mass retail lines transformers absolutely destroys bandai Americas offerings ( I've heard bandai japan is better). I'm not saying this to offend, because if the toys were better made I would collect them, I'm just very curious in hearing fan's thoughts on this.
Tldr: Collector Megazords seem like overpriced outdated bricks. Just want a fans perspective.

Those are some nice pics, but I just don't feel the same love for these that I have when I get a new TF MP. I think that's what's holding me back from opening them. You found the Megazord at a pawn shop? That's an amazing score!

I got my Dragonzord today, although the panel that connects to the Megazord's back plate was installed backwards. And I can't figure out which way to push the pin so I can fix it.
