I'm glad they didn't tie the figure to the plastic tray, then tie the tray and figure to the cardboard tray, then tape the plastic to the cardboard, and top it off by taping the ties to the cardboard. That GDO Megatron packaging was not collector friendly.
Such a tragedy that this sculpt is being lost in all that gray plastic. If only it had a premium paint job, or even a nicer metallic plastic. This is a great example of why the movie dinobots should be the many bright colors they are. If this is the best e-hobby can do with a silver character, just imagine what hasbro's gray dinobots would look like. GDO is still my personal favorite non-beast Megatron toy. Head sculpt 10/10 and it does not look good here.
Megaboobiestron. Megatron, unhappy with his flat chest, goes to shockwave for a boobjob and comes back.... Megaboobiestron! With glorious 34c voluptuous bosom heaving, he is ready to kick arse in the name of those who are robo-boobies challenged...
I don't have one either, and for that reason the Evolution 2-pack is one of my top priorities. You're aware GDO Megatron was the same figure, just in his G2 colors, so it had the same head, yes?
WHO CARES? You act like it's your mission in life to excuse everything. A bad head is a bad head. There have been many figures with poor face sculpts over the years. They needn't repeat the mistake by using a poor face over and over. And if they do repeat it, don't expect me to love it blindly for no reason. It doesn't matter what justification you come up with; it doesn't change the fact this Megatron face would fit right in in the Construct-Bot line.
Megatron's swords are VERY soft. Which is a good thing in my opinion as that means they won't be permanently bent the wrong way. They're still rigid enough to retain their normal position. Randy
Something about Megatron got lost in the gray. Maybe a black/purple repaint will look more menacing. At least make his swords red or something, instead of the same gray, which looks boring.
I'm just stating they've used it before. And TBH, I don't like it on Megs either. It's a bit too....Starscream.
Not just soft.....softer. They used a different material than they used on the GDO. Its kind of floppy. The sword will bounce around after setting a pose until it settles. I have an order in for the Perfect Effect upgrade set, so this doesn't bother me too much.
I think it's an improvement myself. As while it is softer, it returns to shape. The other ones are very hard to get into their correct position again once bent. Randy
All this hate towards his smile is HILARIOUS!!!! To each their own and stuff, but what kills me is no one seems to think it's ok for evil bastards to smile! As an owner of the original GDO version, I'll say this... When I look at him I get the impression he just came up with some nefarious scheme and is so pleased with his evil genius, he is smirking. People don't have to like it of course, but what the hell is so hard about that concept! It's not like it's one of those "hey kids, I'm a friendly bad guy" robot heroes smile or anything... It's definitely mischievous, at best.
