I just don't get it. The tooling is the same.. So does it really cost hasbro that much more to apply the same paint applications that takara does? Just blows my mind. A figure that costs $15 is so dull and for $10 more at least for slug on bbts, you get metallic paint..
    Is metallic paint that expensive?!

movie accurate grimlock is $62-$80 from takara.. Movie accurate not what you see at your local tru just for a paint application it's $17-$35 more? :/ I just don't see why hasbro can't apply metallic paint and give the fans what they deserve. People do buy the takara versions so the market is there.

Like others have said before. Kind of ironic, the only figure that might actually warrant some chrome has absolutely none what so ever. I guess they used up the extra chrome on Leader Grimlock. The truck mode looks kind of bland like it was accidentally partially unpainted instead of being the way its supposed to look.

This is so funny :D  when First Edition appeared, a lot of fans without any reason, and besides the experience of Transformers Prime, were waiting the same mold without chrome! :D

    Well...Hasbro listened. :D

Yeah, ok so they "listened" and left the chrome off, but grey? GREY? The fricking thing is called SILVER KNIGHT! They couldn't throw some silver paint on it?

You'd think they'd use actual silver paint because this figure is of the Platinum Edition line.

It absolutely is. That's why Takara figures cost more. Figure that Japan's economy is doing much better than the US, so they can afford more paint at a higher cost.

Though this figure is just bizzare. It has less paint operations than the previous mould use, and is the only figure that really needed the chrome, and gets bupkis.
