Damn. I Had to go back through the book and verify, but you're right. Good call.

Yes to those last couple of ideas.

If it were a 'bathing' thing A) we'd probably see more bots bathing in the reservoir, and B) that would be weird, unless Lost Light had been a luxury cruise ship before Rodimus got it.

    Which would also be weird.

To be perfectly correct, we don't strickly know that the Energon at the bar is liquid, or its properties as such. It could be a particularly cohesive plasma, particularly compressed and ionized, which is theoretically supported by its glow and how Energon cubes were created all the way back in G1.

Really, Energon is Phlebotinum, and unless some book went out of its way to explain the properties of Energon we can't assume much about it other than that it's fuel.

Not every liquid behaves like water, right?

There is no indication that Energon "freezes" at any temperature... whether it's zero, or absolute zero (helium, for example freezes at just about the temperature of space. In fact, we know nothing really about Energon because it's a fantazy substance. For all we know, it gives off its own heat.

Fuel in this instance is ambiguous. We know it powers TFs, but we don't know how. Does it combust like fossil fuels? Heck, TF's consume Energon, but also seem to use it as 'blood', which is a bit odd.

Energon seems to be interchangeably solid, liquid, gel, crystal, generic glowing energy, and who knows what else... and that doesn't even address the whacked out properties of Shockwave's "special ores".

Which is why you'd only have limited, controlled environments with atmosphere... for just that reason. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have to look far to see examples of TFs moving freely in and out of spaceships or sattelites without depressurization in evidence. They don't seem to suffer ill effects from being in space, so why go through all the trouble of filling your ship with air (or some kind of atmosphere anyway)?

    Yup, just a general question.

That shot of Nightbeat's quarters with the disappeared walls and floors might have been clearer if the ship was rotated into the panel so we're focused on Nightbeat and Chromedome's reactions, but still able to see more of the ship. The panelling layout is totally set up for it.

I was confused on what I saw until I came here.

Is it interesting that the shape of the disappearance follows precisely the shape of the quarters?

I am curious to see who on list that upset Rodimus. I thinking it might be Ultra Magnus. I don't think the List is what killed Rodimus. I am guessing his death might have to do with DJD and especially Vos. It is making Vos appear to be the Mole.

Do you think Rodimus would actually be surprised that Ultra Magnus doesn't approve of his leadership?

(actually, I'm kind of surprised that ANYONE does. :)  )

vos is probably the mole, he speaks old cybertronian to keep cover and maintain his secret. and he's the only one who transforms into a gun who can shoot those bullets. i really hope he's not the mole, i really like him to be a sadistic character. i rather have tarn or kaon as the mole.

Well, it's not like the question of atmosphere has no place in the discussion. It's always been one of those little sci-fi details in the Transformers fiction that has been very lightly stepped over.

Yeah, all the evidence points to Vos, really.

Haha! I wonder if his little "trick" with his face is a faint analogy to the obliteration of identity inherent in being deep undercover, or perhaps just a coy nod to John Woo's FACE/OFF. :D

FaceOff - Nicholas Cage "I'd Like to take his face.....off" - YouTube

Y'know... some time ago, someone at IDW mentioned that a story involving Punch/Counterpunch was in the works. You have to wonder if maybe the concept of an undercover Autobot agent who is in danger of fragmenting into two personalities might not have been liberally folded into Agent 113?

Is the Vos with hooks for hands and feet the new Vos though. Even though it was a continuity error hasn't gun mode Vos been around since sentinel?

He certainly has, but it doesn't mean he's been a part of the DJD since Sentinel.

you're right... i don't know, i have no theory in regards of it. it's something i've accepted. i mean... as long as there aint no human in there we'll never know if they're using atmosphere after all! (but again the bots were sucked out in trailcutter and issue #1, BUT YET, nightbeat and chromedome were standing there like nothing had happened... so it's a bit confusing. unless some parts are using atmosphere)

faceoff as a hell of a movie back at it's time. back when cage used to play good movies :D

punch counterpunch... yep... but i guess that guy is more complicated than a mole or secret agent, in IDW i'd guess they'd make him a crazy robot with personality disorder unless they do something like double dealer to him.

The disappearing pieces of Lost Light kinda reminds me of Dr. Who's Tardis when the ship is dying. Bear in mind Roberts is big fan of the Dr. Who may be Lost Light is experiencing some type trouble in maintaining structural integrity. It is a symptom of something major.

That's what I mean. Who says he isn't?

I would think that a deeply embedded mole in a psychotic house-of-horrors operation like the DJD would probably contribute to some pretty serious personality disorders... to say nothing of the possibility of layered shadowplay to submerge and protect your original identity.

Pet theory: Vos is the mole. Who might be IDW Punch.

I think that was tried on Mirage. I think Shadowplay is going be major arc or an event.
