I can see this being a valid pricepoint for MP Grimlock.

The corporate logic being that there's no new development for this piece. No remolding, no added pieces, no new gimmick. They've made their money on this mold, so now whatever they make on it is gravy.

I just can't get over how crap the plastic on this thing looks. I mean, damn. For $60 ill bite, at least for a custom. But really compared to the Takara or even the original Hasbro release, this looks KO quality, or worse in some cases.

    $60?!

I will try not to slip on the drool in the aisle from all the scalpers.

I wish everyone luck, including myself.

R you talking about the sheen of the grey plastic?
I'll give you being different, but not "crap."
I'm totally satisfied with my Hasbro MP Grimlock

Yes, it seem very dull and drab. Doesn't scream ''Masterpiece'' instead screams ''Cheap Hasbro''. To sum up my thoughts on how the grey looks on this release, 'crap' comes to mind.

Not sure why you compared Takara to the original Hasbro release? I never said the Original Hasbro release didn't look as good as the Takara. But this one yeesh. No thanks.

Well if that blurry pic is accurate, he's 70 retail and 60 "special retail" whatever that is.

He was sitting on that shelf last time, and I passed him up. If I see him this time, that mistake shall not be repeated.

    Ooooohhh......
I didn't realize that the new Hasbro one had a more dull plastic, my bad.
I should have read the 1st page and saw the pics first :D
I assumed it'd be the same plastic as before.

It's cool. If this actually does retail for $60 then fantastic. I'm sure people who missed out on him the first time will not hesitate to pick him up, especially at that price. Like I said, even I might bite. The mold itself is probably top 10 Tf's ever made, IMHO. just wish they could have spruced it up a bit is all.

$60 is certainly great news if that truly is the price, however, it also means it makes it more affordable for scalpers to buy more/all of them off the shelf, leaving none for anyone else. I truly hate when MP's are TRU exclusive, as I'm sure many can attest to the to incompetence of how TRU handles them through pre-orders and or distribution. I would be willing to pay a bit extra if I could just deal with an online retailer such as BBTS, and avoid the needless headache TRU always seems to bring.

I counted down the days as the TRU MP Soundwave was supposed to be available for purchase on TRU's website. The day they were available, I woke up at 7:30am E.S.T. to hop online and order one, and sure enough, all were already sold out. The only thing I could do was request to have an email sent to me when they were back in stock. To this day, I have never received an email informing me they were back in stock to order, and not once have I ever seen one on the shelves of either of my two local TRU's.

So who knows how this go around with MP Grimlock will be, but I'm not holding my breath hoping to get one.
