I realize this might be considered a stupid question, but hear me out before you respond.

I was looking at pictures of the Dinobot toys, and I was closely looking at their head sculpts. How simplified, and streamlined their heads are, even Grimlocks head is relatively simple by comparison to other Bayformers toys.
Their head sculpts almost remind of the first movie video game figures with the simplified heads.

And then it occurred to me; are the Dinobots going to have on screen robot modes or will they just be dinosaur robots?

Think about it this way, Scorponok didn't transform, neither did the Fallen, or Shockwave, or the Driller. So for a Transformers movie we've probably had more than out fair share of non-transforming robots in the movies. I mean I think the Driller's the best example; that thing was HUGE, and it didn't transform into diddly.

Plus in any of the trailers has any of the Dinobots been seen transforming? I realize that in the trailers the Dino modes are the big selling point, but so far we have not seen an on screan robot for them yet, have we?

Didn't the Fallen transform into a jet a fly over to the pyramid?

If they didn't transform that would be the biggest anti-climax for the movie.

Also just imagine all those kiddies who have bought the AOE Dinobot toys, their disappointment at not seeing them transform. Big letdown man.

OKay, well that's good. It would feel like a complete rip off if the Dinobots are just beast modes.

No, The Fallen was one of the original cybertronians and they didn't Transform.

Ive a question too.......all robot modes are significantly larger than vehicle/alt modes and i know the dino modes are the show stoppers in terms of power and fighting etc but does anyone else think that potentially grim and other dinos robot modes could be huuuuge!!???? Dont know how it would work especially if they are all accurate to scale in dino modes when they transform into bot mode slog could be the biggest we've seen yet.....potentially. If only these wishes came true....

My bad! Turns out that slogs Dino mode isn't that much larger than grims dino mode. Pants

This is one of my issues... about them possibly being TOO big, and what they would have to fight. Maybe they'll end up stockier than their toys make them look? Shifting their mass all around them rather than up. Can't wait to find out!

I've never seen it and that goes against the grind of original cybertronians. Ah oh well.

My guess would be they'll all be in Dinobot mode, until the very end when we have our "good work team" montage.

The Dinobots Transforming is probably the big money scene, as well as their possibly being a bigger threat that the trailers havent alluded to. i personally feel like their Robot modes are way too distinct for them not to transform, if we go back to, Skorponok or the fallen, or shockwave, whose forms that werent shown were really not involved or lackluster at best in toy form.
