Could you please provide an example from any of the three previous movies where Prime made a similar noise to the one you are hearing in this new trailer? I'd like to have a comparison. (not requesting a video clip, just a description of the scene).

I remember the sound but not the scene but I'll give you one when I watch the movies again. I just distinctly remember Cullen making that noise when voicing Prime in the movies.

Not exactly an inspiring answer, but OK.

So you have heard that "exact" grunt from Prime that sounds like Die? Please, once you find it in the other movie it was in, let me know. Thanks.

I know very well though that Primes grunts are higher pitched than his actual voice. It might be Lockdown it might not, I'm just thinking that it sounds far more like Primes grunting. Also I'm not the only one who seems to recognize the grunt.

Wait so do you "think" it may be his grunt or do you recognize it as you know its his grunt? If you "know" its Optimus' grunt that it can't be Lockdown so why even say it might be lockdown?

No you're surely not. I hear Prime grunting too. I also hear a second, different robot voice making a sound independent from the grunt.

To my ears, the two sounds are distinguishable because Prime's voice has a distinct register that the other sound does not have, and it stands out to me for two reasons:

    1) I've never heard Prime make a sound like that at any point in any of the previous 3 movies. And despite my earlier sarcasm, I've seen the movies more than my fair share of times.

    2) Prime makes a sound that overlaps with the sound I'm referring to, and I'm assuming that Prime cannot make two noises at the same time that have distinctly different vocal registers. Now, if anyone could, it would be Optimus Prime, because he's awesome, but he's in the middle of getting kicked in the face at that moment, so I doubt he is thinking about showing off his vocal skills. Impressive as they obviously are.

Now that I've listened to it in incredibly good headphones, and on the 4k HD, I can hear Lockdown's voice. I hear Optimus too but now I'm starting to hear a "Die!" with some kinda accent

My issue with the whole, "it's Optimus grunting" thing, is that it's clearly heard before he knees him in the face, like in martial arts when some yells hya (sp?) as they make a kick or punch... a grunt like that would take place on/after contact. Optimus has never made those grunts before being hit like that. Only when he's doing the hitting, or right when he gets hit... therefore, it definitely sounds like Lockdown saying "Die"

The difference is that this time it's a super obvious and clear thing and not people being blind.
I don't know what you're hearing and I don't care what anyone says, it is absolutely Optimus. I downloaded the trailer and listened to it over and over with headphones. I don't know what to tell you, because it sounds exactly like his grunts from before. The only difference is that people are listening for the word "die."

He doesn't want him dead. He didn't say "die." This just contributes to the fact that it was Optimus.

It's Prime grunting. Watch the Optimus Prime vs Sentinel Prime scene in Dark Of The Moon and you'll hear Optimus make similar sounds to the one that we're talking about now.

That's fine we'll agree to disagree. I say 100% it isn't Prime and is Lockdown saying die. I've also dowloaded the trailer on my pc and phone and have watched it over and over. it's so plainly obvious to me I really don't know what else to say, but since I didn't make the movie or trailer anything is possible

And wether you hear the word Die or not how can you say he doesn't want him dead in these scenes? he's beating the hell out of him.

Again I think if people play Mark Ryans short clip from TF1 and then isolate the "Die" in this trailer at precisely 1:59 they'll hear the similarity

I've explained what I'm hearing, quite descriptively. I appreciate your reply (despite your claims to "not care" what I say), but I don't need you to tell me anything. Despite your repeated, headphone-assisted listenings, I'm still hearing what I hear, the same as I've heard it since the first time I heard it. And it's not just me, so I'm inclined to not self-diagnose myself with dementia or a tumor.

I'll say this: the noise I'm hearing stood out to me upon seeing this new trailer the first time. If it was simply Prime "grunting," like he's done so many times before, I'm not sure why this particular noise would have been so unique.

it's prime.. just face it.. maybe you'll admit it to yourself when the movie comes out.

there isn't even an audible "D" in the noise.. hell, prime even grunts right before this sound.. it's prime. end of story.. there's really no agreeing or disagreeing on a fact.. and the fact is, it's prime.

now.. if peter cullen was also voicing lockdown.. then i'd say, maybe..

but still, when prime gets hit, he grunts, prime get's hit/thrown twice in this scene, therefor he grunts twice.

Right that's what you're missing Timothy it's not when he gets hit it's before it.
It's not Prime and you need to face it. see two can play again neither of us made the movie or trailer so it's impossible to say and I've already said it could be different in the final cut

I love how people seem to think any of us has some kind emotional agenda at work here. I'm simply stating what I hear and I hear a modulated Mark Ryan telling Prime to die

Edit: Oh and I just played it for my roommate who doesn't even like TF and he heard the word die on the first pass.
