Ive won a few auctions from Ebay and these have ALL been from the states.... I getquoted a shipping quote of say 24 usd. The box comes with a tag showing the EXACT shipping and its 11.50 usd. This happens multiple times too! Im almost done with buying from the US because of shipping and customs. Ive had people send me stuff roughly 6lbs and itcost 15 usd!!! which is GREAT wtf do they keep charging like 30 usd for shipping on a 1-2lb item??? GAAAAH

That's a shame. Whenever I sell stuff I charge exact shipping. What you should watch out for is the "handling" charge. Being in hawaii sometimes i get plugged with an extra handling charge just because i'm in hawaii. USPS doesn't charge that much extra for Hawaii yet some ebay sellers call it "handling".

I see S/H "scams" all the time on ebay. Sometimes I won't even bid on an item if the seller appears to be trying to gouge for S/H charges, just out of principle.

I usually try to charge close to exact shipping. Usually I'll just estimate though, eating the cost if its more (I do lowball it). I really can't stand when you pay $5 to ship a package and it comes in and it only cost 97 cents to ship.

I'll generally guess what the shipping charge is going to be, then round it up to the next 5 dollar mark. It's a guide that covers my time and effort.

Getting a box with much less shipping than I paid for is pretty annoying, but it's not as bad to me as people that leave price stickers on the thing I bought, totally rubbing it in my face how much more I paid than they did :(
