hi,I am new to the boards,I have a question,I went to a kmart, they had the AOE Deluxes,But,When I went to the checkout, the scanner thing beeped, come to find out,I could not buy them until May 17th,has anyone else had this problem?
Apparently when they first got the toys in none of them were street dated in their systems which opened a small window for people to buy the toys without problems, but then I guess they then found out about the issue in their systems and sent out the street date into their computers.
If they have the toys on the floor, they just should have let you buy it regardless of the street date. They should put the stock in the back if it isnt for sale yet...
In my case that's what they did. They let me get my two Dinobots and then had someone go remove the others from the shelves.
same here there was about 3 sets on the shelf so i brought one set to the checkout..wouldnt ring out at the register manager was right there nearby." he said sorry sir these are not supposed to be out yet but its not your fault..hes like I think they are 10 bucks no lie proceeded with the sale and then only charged me 9.99 each..I was quite happy..cool manager
I'm surprised to see this (complaining about the street date) from someone who has taken many opportunities to be vocal about their dislike of the AOE line.
I tried buying the 1-step changers (about scout class size) several weeks ago and also could not buy them.
I am glad the street date beep happened when I went to the register, probably saved me $16 on in impulse purchase. Gonna try to not pay more then $10 for each deluxe I get from this line.
I would strongly suggest checking out all the store exclusive repacks ; that way you can avoid having to buy something twice if the item the main toy is packed with is of interest too. some times they have a different deco on them too. So I'd suggest looking that up before buying the default deluxes (unless you are being completist).
This. I started drooling at the TrU Grimlock vs Grimlock pack. Heck all of the dinobots two packs were sweet
