Slag is deluxe actually. So is Drift. Grimlock is Voyager, and Prime is Leader.

And thanks to everyone, and props to everyone posting. I love looking at this thread (I lurk a lot).

    Is that the Sony a7?

    Is it any good?

I have considered getting a small form factor body for a while but it's only recently that full frame ones have started hitting the market.

It is, and it is. I was using the Sony Nex series for a couple years prior to this, so it was a natural upgrade. I personally can't imagine using the larger bodied systems since I never had one, I started with Nex in 2011.

The full frame on it is nice, but it requires changes to shooting which I am not fully used to yet. Depth of field is narrower, so it requires different settings to keep everything in focus with one shot. The lenses also have a farther minimum focus distance, so I have to keep the toys farther away from the camera. Nothing horrible, but definitely a change to the way I shoot. Need to do a couple more sessions like this, and use it at conventions to see if I should keep it or work back down to the APS-C size.

But, as a raw powerhouse, it rocks. Used it for landscape shots on vacation last week, and those shots are crazy detailed.

Nice stuff. It does look like a cracking camera and if I was starting out I think I would be going for that system. The size is just perfect for traveling and full frame is essential for artistic shots.

Sadly I am knee deep in canon gear so I am stuck with that for the time being. It's large and a pain to carry around but I would miss both the control it gives you and some of the lenses.

Will be keeping an eye on your flickr account to see how well the Sony performs :)
