One of the big new mysteries this season, is who Whirl is conspiring with to get rid of Megatron, Prowl is too obvious and Rodimus was mentioned during the conversation so it wasn't him. Who do you think it was?

My guess is Starscream. Though now I think it might Atomizer.

It could almost be anyone if you really think about it.

Optimus: Could say "I gave Megatron a chance go reform, he didn't, so we had to execute him." But, given Optimus's friendship with Megatron seems EXTREMELY unlikely.

Galvatron: Made it perfectly clear he didn't care for Megatron, and Megatron made it clear the feeling was mutual. But, would he really work with Whirl and vice versa?

Soundwave: Feels betrayed by Megatron for siding with the Autobots. Might be trying to goad him into breaking whatever agreements are in place and with no other place to go but back with the Decepticons. We know Ravage is on board.

Prowl: Way too obvious, but still, sometimes the obvious answer is the most likely one.

Ultra Magnus: He might not have liked Rodimus's actions, but would he really be happy with Megatron taking over as captain? Highly unlikely. But then again, is he actually willing to work with WHIRL to discredit or kill Megatron? Probably not.

As you can see, anyone could be a suspect.

I doubt it's Prowl. Part of me wonders if it's not so much that whoever's asked Whirl to do this really wants Megatron to snap, but rather wants to test Megatron to make sure he won't go back to his old ways.

I think it could be Magnus too. He wants to test Megatron's dedication to the cause?

I'm sure we'll be surprized by the answer.

    Was my thought too.

Plus, as the ship had jumped from Cybertron, it'd have to be someone ON the Lost Light, otherwise he can't use his personal comm and would need the ship'd (As we saw everyone needs to send messages to Cybertron). So that rules Prowl out (On Earth), Galvatron (Earth), Optimus (Earth), Starscream (Cybertron).

I guess Rodimus (Who could've stowed away on the ship. He thinks its his ship, and Megatron going nuts and killing a crewmember (or being killed by one) would justify him taking his role of Captain) or Ravage (Whom we saw is on the Lost Light).

It's not Rodimus, because Whirl says "Yeah, it's like Rodimus said before we left, it's like he's expecting to be provoked."

Or something very close to that, I don't have the issue in front of me.

I'm thinking it's probably someone we're not gonna see it coming from, like Preceptor or Brainstorm, Skids or Getaway. For, you know, Reasons.

The question for me is not who Whirl is working for but why he's antagonizing Megatron? I'm coming up with the obvious answers - someone wants to prove Megatron isn't actually reformed and has recruited Whirl to antagonize him into attacking, (and possibly promising to reverse the Empurata if he does so), *or* Whirl being Whirl probably doesn't need a really good reason to go half-cocked and start fighting things, *or* there's something else going on that relates to the Lost Light starting to lose letters and things disappearing, and we just don't have enough information to make that connection yet. The reason I think this is twofold - Skids comment about the Lost Light at the end of Dark Cybertron and the
solicit in Issue #30 - EVACUATION! Is it possible for a starship to object to its captain? That’s what the Autobots are asking Megatron as the Lost Light becomes the most dangerous place in the universe!

Forgot he mentions Rodimus. Still, has to be someone on board the ship itself. Magnus maybe?

    I figure the
    issue 30 stuff
has to do with the future warning "Don't Open the Coffin!"

As for Whirl, I wouldn't be surprised Whirl has some baggage over his part in Megatron's backstory.

    Ok... Here's my candidates...

Magnus... well he's the 2IC on the Lost Light now so why not?

Optimus... he's been an informant for Optimus before (in Shadowplay) so why not now?

Ratchet... the doc's been keeping tabs on Megatron for a while so, yes, why not him.

Rung... to see if the "therapy" has been working.

    Prowl... possible, but too obvious.

Arcee... They got along splendidly in Dark Cybertron. And who else is Arcee close to? Prowl.

I'm betting either Rodimus or Prowl. The two most likely culprits.

Oh, now THAT'S interesting, but unfortunately, I don't think it's Rung's style. He seems to honor patient/doctor confidentiality, and I don't see him employing or supporting violence. Especially with someone as unhinged as Whirl.

    Hahahaha.

That is a very good point, that does sound like the prickery Prowl would do.
