Wow that price is pretty high. I'll probably pick up another Takara version

 

I reported this yesterday on the other MP Prowl Hasbro thread, but no one but one replied about it.

 

really love the box.

It's simple yet elegant, really makes it look like a collector's item and not just a toy like the previous Hasbro MP boxes.

 

The price on this one is absolutely ridiculous.

$69.99 + 13% sales tax = $79.09.

It was way cheaper to buy from one of the Japanese online retailers and pay for shipping. Heck, I paid less to get MP Grimlock when he came out in Canada. This pretty much tells me that there is no point on waiting for any of the MP cars. I'm thankful that I already have all of the Datsuns, both Sideswipes and Tigertrack because there isn't really much incentive to wait it the prices are going to be this high.

 

Finally made an account on here after years of lurking just to say WTF?!? That's one stupid price right there! As for "Scalpers", I wouldn't worry at that price! They'll be buying it for about $80 leaving no room for profit anyway. Who's going to buy a hasbro release for the same price as takara? Nobody. I wanted the smokescreen more anyway but I'd pick up a prowl for no more than $50. Guess I'm waiting for a good ko.

That price just convinced me......to the eBay I go...KO is OK.

 

70$?! I can get the Takara one for cheaper. That's crazy.

 

Yeah, I meant more for smokescreen. Plus, the red alert I got had some issues.

 

Does your Red Alert KO have excess plastic on the head opening part and lose knees?

 

Its head wouldn't quite stay closed so I just glued it although I should have just filed it down somewhere and one arm at the bicep swivel was completely stuck and I broke it trying to turn it (and I was super careful). Knees are fine though.

I just display it in robot mode and I know I can't sell it anyway so I just glued the arm on.

Edit: Actually, I just checked and the knees are a bit loose but not so much that's it's tough to stand

 

I have been tempted by Blue Streak and Prowl. Regarding the boxed G1's, Blue Streak was the first one I got, followed shortly by Prowl (whose windshield cracked   ).

Though Grimlock is a must-get, since I missed out on him the first time around. Of course, now I wish we'd get the other Dinobots in Masterpiece size (I'd love to know what Swoop would be like in MP format).

 

Wow guess i was lucky mine's arms didnt break I only transformed em four times. I keep em in robot mode. I'll have to try filing down the head piece.

 

Yeah, the only reason I paid more for my Takara version was because I bought it at a bad time and wanted to ship a bunch of other crap at the same time, alas BBTS was my choice.

At least with that price its less likely to become scalper fodder.

 

I should mention, that my KO Sideswipe was spot on perfect.
