So exited. I hope I'm lucky enough to nab one of these before it sells out online, since I don't have a TRU anywhere near me.

If I'm lucky enough to find one (and have the spare cash on me), I might pick this up. I always wanted another Grimmy for robot mode.

I would reserve judgment until we see how this actually looks in-hand. Hasbro's stock photographers and stock photos are notoriously bad....at everything.

If they have in fact gone with that milky Hasbro gray for this, it's a pretty nasty downgrade. At least my son will be able to have one of his own instead of envying the 2009 release sitting in my daughter's room right now.

Toys R Us is the only retailer willing to sell MP Grimlock for Hasbro. Hasbro cannot sell these in stores unless a mass retailer like Toys R Us is willing to pick it up. If a mass retailer is not willing to pick up, then we have little hope to getting one in the states a a lower price.

So since the box says this is MP-03 I guess we're getting it before Prowl and Sunstorm. I wonder what the time line is for these releases now.

MP-03 Grimlock is being released to coincide with Hasbro's big AoE Grimlock push. He'll most like be released before the end of Summer. Botcon/SDCC will bring us a definitive answer.

No, I mean the very tip of the tail, which just has plain plastic. Especially apparent since it's contrasted with the chromed bit right next to it. No chrome, as seen in the picture you posted. In previous releases it was painted (not chromed, but something) so it looked a bit nicer.

Like I said before, it's not something that would keep me from purchasing it, just something that doesn't look as nice as older releases. Outside of a few baseless complaints, I feel like there's not so much "random butthurt" in this thread and mostly just people saying they don't like the shade of grey and people responding it's stuff like "your tears are delicious."

Can't we all just, like, appreciate toys and express opinions calmly if our opinions don't line up with everyone else's?

Of course not. The only opinion that counts is the one of the person who stated it. Law of the land, I'm afraid. Just take a gander over at the MP Magnus thread. It is unfortunate though when viable criticisms and justifiable opinions become 'butthurt'. It really is an immature way to display ignorance to the value of other opinions.

I have the previous Hasbro release, it is also not chromed.

Guys, these pictures are BAD, and that's all there is to it. Lets hold off critiquing the shade of grey and supposed missing paint aps till we see it in person. It appears as though the box art shows the Takara version (just like the original Hasbro one) and it will be deco'd just like the other Hasbro one. Either way, we'll know soon enough once it hits stores, which I would expect to happen when the AoE toys hit (meaning before the August/SDCC time MPs usually hit)

MP01 Acid Storm and MP02 Soundwave came out on the same day. This time it might be three at once.

Hopefully around the same time. I'm thinking we might get all three by the end of this year. Or at least, that's what I'm hoping for :D

    Yup.

    Too late.

I'm glad they out Grimlock in the new style TRU masterpiece packaging. I hope he'll be easier to find this time around than the first run of Hasbro MP Gromlocks

Not to knock anyone in particular, but MP Grimlock wasn't hard to find. He was just released way before most people knew MPs existed. Once the movies got more popular and drew more and more people into collecting (and MP10 came out) THATs when people started complaining they never saw him. Case in point: This photo is from the Fairfax, VA TRU in early November of 2010.
