Dude, don't bother. A stubborn mule is a stubborn mule.

Maybe it has been mentioned before but doesn't his gun look puney? I'm not liking that butt flap at the moment, reminds me of those butt flaps on the Binaltech vipers. We need to see his backside.

Weakest? By what criteria did you come to that conclusion?

This thing has come a long way from it's Diaclone Powered Convoy brick origin, so what is so weak about it?

It's definitely G1 themed where the trailer becomes his armor unlike KFC's titanium based version.

Well, saying it looks the worst of the recent bunch is going to come off as confrontational any way you want to slice it. It's going against the grain.

But if there was a better way to phrase that question, I am all ears.

But also, I am using this as a comparison against other MPs. I know your saying it is a strong showing, but in the comparison set, is it better then anything we have seen since Megtron?

    See, I agree.

I think MP Rodimus get's sliced down the middle with people with QC issues and people without.

My Rodimus has been (knock on wood) to this day perfect. My wife even knocked him off my shelf and nothing broke.

Once I figured out where the hands went, the fiddlyness went away. I know I have to use the manual to transform him, but I always enjoy his tansformation. So much so, I want to get the TT V2 one as well.

Plus, your right, I was talking about looks. He looks stunning.

Yeah, check the quote above. I had no breakages, so I enjoyed him.

Haha, I know people get upset quickly. So that is the tip toe.

But value wise your right. He is a great value.

That is cool that you feel that way about him. I kinda wish I did.

Yeah, I wish I felt the same. I don't get the same vibe for him. I was all in on the other MPs no question. They just POPPED off the screen into a toy.

This, not so much. The way that Megatron is too lanky, is how I feel like this is too thick.

Hoping that a paint job solves these issues, but even with the mock ups I wasn't too impressed.

In comparison to the other MPs we have been spoiled in getting.

I'm with you guys. I think the guys that hate him are the ones that tend to view these as toys. He's floppy, finicky, his joints don't move smoothly, and he's a pain to transform. You can't "play" with him. But if you look at these as collectors' items and display pieces you'll see he's a work of art and an engineering marvel. He couldn't look any more like G1 Rodimus if he raised the Matrix triumphantly while The Touch started blaring in the background. Based on the reactions of guests, my wife, and my two small children, he's definitely the most visually appealing to the casual viewer. They can hardly even believe it when I tell them he turns into a car! His big, awesome trailer/battle platform makes for an amazing display piece, too, and is just icing on the cake. The demand for this guy is only going to skyrocket with Ultra Magnus' release. I can't wait to finally have Rodimus' big buddy on the shelf with him. It's going to feel like I'm eight years old again this Christmas (thank God I have a loving and understanding wife!).

Yeah you're quite right - there is no robot mode for the cab. That old translation was confirmed wrong even before we saw the latest clear pictures. It's a bit mean to say the cab transforms into nothing though! I mean some of it transforms into his chest and matrix chamber, and the head is in there somewhere. The rest transforms into, er, robot mass.

    And a tux tail.

It's the legs that are really annoying me, the rest I can put up with but the inner legs especially just look dreadful. Gappy and insubstantial looking (seriously, even if the shin ramps just leaned back against them at the top it wouldn't be so bad), the wheels peeking out at the bottom (if you're going to hide them, then hide them but doing it by halves is just a waste of time), plus from the outer side they just look like big, plain blocks of plastic with a bare minimum of detailing. No style at all. Ideally, I would have liked to see panels wrapping around to at least give the appearance of a solid leg or the ramp sitting flush against the bulk of the leg.

The cab-front assflap is somewhat baffling as well. Some really odd design decisions made here.

There are a lot of for and against arguments. To each their own but I think this one is going to be amazing. Some of the little features such as the missile pods being on a hinge like MP11 Starscream so they don't actually detach from the toy and the gun storing neatly between the robot arms in bot mode are pretty snazzy. I'm guessing the robot mode chest comes from the cab and the rest folds down. A little more work there would have been nice but at least there isn't a full truck cab hanging off his back. I'm hoping the head will look better in color but it isn't that bad. Though, I do wish they put a slider in the arm so you could bring the shoulders further forward in bot mode.

To the person asking what was the most disappointing MP besides Megatron. I'd have to say nothing. Masterpiece has been a great line where they pull of the impossible sometimes. Rodimus may be a bit fiddly and have QC problems on early models but the design was really well thought out. The only thing I didn't like about the line was no direction until MP10 came out. Now it has found it's niche and I like where everything has gone since then.

I'm very curious about the "extra fists". Wondering if they're really extra or if his hands detach for transformation (I sure hope it's not the latter).

Actually, with Nippon Yasan, you must pay before it is in stock.

You can pay any time between when you pre-order up until about 2 days before the release date. They will send a reminder email about 2 weeks before the deadline for payment.

If you do not pay by then, the order is cancelled. They may suspend your account and cancel your other outstanding orders too.

Yep I agree his gun does look puny, but apparently toon accurate (size). I bought this gun here which i think will go nicely with MP 22 if you want a bigger gun.

People not happy with the "butt flap", look at these images:

Look at the shape of the white prime feet.

The "butt flap" has always been there. I wouldn't be surprised if that back molding in the first two pictures isn't hiding inside the cab too.

You get a reminder e-mail 15 days prior to release, and must pay at least a few days before it is scheduled to be released.

Having said that, you CAN pay at any time between when you make your pre-order and that few days prior to release day. While your order is unpaid you're at the mercy of whatever currency you're paying in versus the Japanese Yen (JPY). While your actual JPY price will NOT change (and may get adjusted DOWN if they drop the price prior to release day), the cost in your native currency could fluctuate as the exchange rate changes from day to day.

Depending on your perspective it could make more sense to pay now (or sometime in the next couple of months) than take a chance your currency will lose value against the JPY.
