I love the fact that this is virtually identical to the Japanese release. If Hasbro actually released all of the characters (can't see Bluestreak getting a release over here), I'd go with them in a heartbeat. For now, I'll stick to Takara for my Masterpiece cars though. You never know what just might not come out here nowadays.

If they do release Sunstorm at $75, I'll cry tears of freaking joy. I can afford that price. I won't have to sit and stare in contempt at the current ebay asking price of 200 freaking dollars. He's the one seeker i most want but can't afford.

Hot rod had the target master
    Sound wave had his tapes
Wonder if prowl will bring anything extra? Or just be a lot cheaper

Don't forget the less than optimal TRU distribution of these toys. Unfortunately, I would not be surprised if I saw the MP Soundwave stuff happen to MP Prowl.

They both look the same shade of tealish blue/green to me, but the art might just be of the Takara prototype image, just like the Grimlock box at Toyfair had the Takara sharp-toothed grimmy on it.

I don't see how you can judge size when there's nothing else in the picture. There's no way they'd waste that much shelf and shipping space with empty air. Even in Platinum Prime's box everything was squished in quite well.

A quick hasbro surprise....after seeing him at the toyfair and how thrilled the fans were to be getting a second chance to buy this extremely sought after figure, hasbro decided that AOE grimmy was enough to sastify the want of the mp one so they are cancelling him and replacing him with sunstorm, prowl will be after.

    no one panic im joking

what where there was a line in front of tru every day and then the workers would let everyone run to the isle only for the dudes to have them hidden behind the electronics counter or customer service desk....and there is only 4 every 2 weeks and the same dude with his 3 kids kep coming in and buying them all?
yea I know that story....I got lucky one day and found one on the shelf...after they had to search for it because an employee hid it for himself 9 isles away.

I already have the Takara version, but might pick this one up again depending on how it feels in hand.

Not something I can tell by a picture obviously

Great news for anyone that missed the Takara release. If I see him I may be tempted to pick him up to display in vehicle mode.

It's such a shame that we don't know on Japanese release whether or not Hasbro will bite, it just makes the risk of missing out too great and subsequently Hasbro's sales suffer. If they released Soundblaster and Ratbat I'd be over the moon, and I suppose they did kick out the Year of the Horse Prime, so anything is possible...

Crossing my fingers that they are released at SDCC. That's where I picked up my Acid and SW last year.

I'm betting he doesn't or they would have had them in the pics on the box. It would entice a lot more Takara people to double dip if they had.

Guess I'll have a good reason to lurk around TRU in the near future. :D

Really? I'm glad I didn't. While most online retailers had this selling for $80 plus shipping, you could easily get the Takara version on eBay for $60 free shipping. I didn't have to get up early and try to order one online nor did I have to stalk a TRU to try and find one at retail. Even if TRU does sell these a little cheaper then $60 I'd still be happy that I didn't have to put up with all the TRU exclusive madness.

I know that I'm in the minority, but I miss the MP-01 Convoy/Alternators scale. $80.00 for a large deluxe (Takara price + shipping) just doesn't seem right to me. I have most of the Alternators and they're great; they have chrome wheels, rubber tires, integrated weapons, & car interiors! They even have above-average bot articulation, opening doors, shock-absorbers or working steering wheels, and line-wide, real-world scaling. I only wish they were G1 accurate vehicles...I wish these MP cars had rubber tires, chrome wheels, chrome weapons (dual when appropriate) and that they were priced around $40.00 (for a fancy deluxe, that suits me.) If they were bigger too, I'd be a happy TF collector. A guy can dream can't he?
