It was confirmed earlier this month, via an surprising announcement for a GoBots themed panel which will be held at WonderCon this weekend, that Warner Home Archive will be releasing the Challenge of the GoBots cartoon on DVD this year. Well, I was taking a poke around their website, and it looks like the pre-order is up!

Challenge of the Gobots: The Series Volume 1 (30eps) |  WBshop.com | Warner Bros.

    It's Volume 1 of a presumable 2, containing 30 episodes.

Seeing anything about GoBots just makes me hope we someday see DVDs announced for Orbots. The two are forever linked in my mind. One evil, one good.

I think there was some legal issues with Orbots so i doubt we will see them on DVD. do not quote me on this though.

Yeah, legal issues instigated by Tonka, in the name of the GoBots. That's why I always think of them together. We were robbed of an excellent cartoon for the sake of THIS chunk of poorly-animated garbage.

I just hope that on Sunday, some type of info or video is given that would answer the question:

Are the episodes cleaned up like the mini-series was?

I honestly hope so, since they did a great job cleaning up the episodes for that. This will be pre-ordered. :D  It's been way too long since they teased us with the mini-series DVD (I thought WB just said fuck it and dropped the idea of releasing the other episodes), but it will be a reality soon for us Gobots fans. :)

I'm literally in tears right now. I never thought I'd live to see the day that my favorite show ever was on DVD.

God I wish my business was going better. I'd give away a copy of this or the pilot DVD with every purchase if I could afford to.

No episode listing yet but we can infer from the attached clip and copy that it contains Auto-Madic, Time Wars, and Terror in Atlantis. The "back to GoBotron" reference could mean anything. But, if the Wikipedia episode order is the one they're going with, my guess would be Lost on GoBotron. And I really hope that's what's happening because it'd mean we're getting Speed is of the Essence. There're alot of great episodes in the second half of the series but that is one of the best.

There is no issue with Mighty Orbots. Warner can release that series when ever they like.

Sorry, I guess I got carried away there. What I mean is: I will pay somebody to get this, and mail it to me... That and the initial 5 episode miniseries. PM me if you could do that up!

I wish they'd do it, then. But how did the issue get settled?

If there wasnt so many TF's series out there to show my boy, Id be interested in this DVD set. But with so many years of catching up, my boy has to look forward too, I just dont see any room for this series

Plus, even the worst of the worst AKOM animation in Transformers was still a million miles better than the best animation in GoBots.

I'd prefer a single issue of the whole series. Do WB releases make it to Amazon? Or will that be the only place to get it?

That movie is a classic. I have a "HD" version of it from when it aired on TV. Would like an officially released DVD or Blu Ray though.
