I can appreciate where you're coming from. While the size shift from Dark Cybertron may be debatable, he appears with Alpha Trion in Orion Pax's Spotlight, as part of a flashback.

    File:OmegasConundrum-Metroplex.jpg - Transformers Wiki

In the depiction linked above, we might imagine A3 walking across the width of Metroplex's leg in a matter of seconds. Of course in this case it's reasonable to suppose that a compromise was reached to depict the two characters in the one image in a way that communicates well with the script and focuses less on a perfect scale. That is, if the image were the same save for A3 being shrunk, he'd hardly be visible or worth trying to draw. On the other hand, if we had a closer framing of A3, we'd see such a small part of Metroplex surrounding him and probably nothing of the planet they're searching.

I liked this first issue - story and writing so far sit nicely with the ongoings, nothing jarring for me.

And put me firmly in the camp that is VERY impressed with Sarah Stone's artwork - blew the vast majority of Dark Cybertron's art out of the water and she is straight in my top 5 list of artists currently drawing TF comics

Loved the first issue... a lot! Sarah's art is a huge breath of fresh air as is the storyline which thankfully pulled back from the 'cataclysmic world-ending' BS to tell a much tighter and more contained tale. The two ladies in charge of this book really know what they're doing and I plan to read as long as the book is being published and steered by these two.

Thats the image I was remembering, but in the Windblade issue I thought his city mode looked way bigger. Maybe not

In Spotlight Metroplex, he looks way smaller and is shown as the core of a much larger city. In this, it seems like he transforms into a much larger city than previously portrayed.

Its probably just artists interpretation, or the style of the image:)

    Titan A3? ;)

Seems like MTMTE lost Fizzle to Windblade, but it also seems like Fizzle is actually doing stuff (even if it's just being a drunk braggart like in his bio) and him never shutting up about being (practically the captain) on the Lost Light is a nice (and hilarious) touch as well

'city' bots have always been iffy. They're really more like big bases, headquarters or the size of a huge hospital, but their name implies they're so much bigger. So yeah, artists always interpret the sizes differently...

I must say, I like the idea of a Transformer folding up into an actual city district, rather than just a big building, much cooler (although the major disasters that would occur the moment he has to transform and fight would be hilarious :lol  )

I love the look of this comic. Very well written in my opinion. Made me laugh quite a few times too!. Can't wait for the rest. I'll be following this one for sure!

It was pretty good. Really nice art, though it was a little inconsistent in some places and Windblade is pretty cute. I'm looking forward to getting her toy. And that bar scene was great.

I had an idea. Okay so what if, yeah, it's tottally Starscream behind everything, he really is trying to kill Windblade, etc, etc. And at the end of the series Windblade knows all this... And Screamer wins. She has to let him win, smile shake hands, endorse him, the whole nine yards. Because if she doesn't it could destabilize Cybertron's political climate so much it would kick the great war off again.

I worked in a comic shop YEARS ago, before I started my career, but aren't those numbers just order numbers anyway? A lot of times the first issue is HUGE just because of hype and comic owners ordering too much. You should never gauge a comic on first issue sales. That's why the industry always resets their numbers to 1 after a time to bring in those short term big numbers. It's all hype. I'm not saying this issue was bad, It was pretty damn tasty, but I think some of those numbers are based on hype surrounding the "FIRST ISSUE" event.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of this issue, I hope it goes monthly; but I would wait for issue 2, or even 3, to say whether this comic is a success or not.

But the numbers quoted are digital sales- not physical copies ordered by a shop.

Yea, I know, but there were a few posts about physical copies. I'd think that digital copies would be a better indicator at this point. Those are real numbers right there, not order numbers.

At this point they are. But this is still a fair comparison. It's only comparing the number of digital copies of other comics sold on iTunes to those of Windblade sold on iTunes.

Yea, you're right. I was making a comparison to physical copies, not other on line orders. You're totally right, though. I don't even pay attention to physical numbers anymore because those are only order numbers, not what people are actually buying.

Just had a chance to read issue 1.

FANTASTIC!!! The writing was excellent and the artwork was sublime. I was not expecting to enjoy this in the least and was completely blown away.

I mean, she's a character created by FAN VOTE. How can that ever go any way but bad? But somehow there's a very interesting story being written.

    Well done Scott and Stone!

This was a remarkably well done comic book. The art had me focused the entire time, and the writing was incredibly "easy." I don't know how else to explain it other than "easy." Turning the page just seemed to happen so swiftly like I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. That left me with a great feeling.

    Bring on issue number 2!

Yeah. Especially when comic companies require a store owner to buy X-amount of copies to get special incentive covers and junk. Man, I just want the cover with Sarah Stone's art!

I havent got a chance to pick the book up yet but I read spoilers and I like how simplistic the female origin is, like it didnt take any huge contrivances to make it work. In many ways it's very similar to the plot of the Cybertron cartoon.
In Cybertron, they introduced the idea that an older generation of Cybertronians took big ships to colonize other worlds and the Transformers on those worlds ended up evolving differently, such as Animatros becoming technorganic and Gigalonia becoming giants. Basically, Caminus did the same thing except they all turned into women.
If it's worked in a past continuity, I see no reason why it doesnt work here.

That was my favorate plot element in Cybertron. The idea of these crazy colony worlds. And it really opens up some fun possibilities for Roberts. All sorts of things for the Lost Light to find. Since they probably won't find the Knights of Cybertron. Heh, I hope he uses the Apocalypse planet idea.

The sales data thing reminds me of something I once heard. It was that they really only count the direct market comics shops. If they counted say supermarket spinner racks then Archie comics would kick both Marvel and DC's in terms of sales. Another thing to note is that online comic sales are probably a bit more economical for the publisher, since they don't have pay the cost of printing the copies. And I would assume not the cost they have to pay daimond comics to distribute it, which if I remember correctly is an absurd amount of the cover price.
