They're tucked away. Optimus has wheels in his feet, Drift has them near his knee area, Hound's feet are his wheels, just broken up, the Dinobots don't need wheels because, you know, they're dinosaurs, and Bumblebee's and Stinger's are on their backs (I'm going by the promotional CGI renders where something that looks like rims are on Bee's back).

The only bots missing their vehicle parts are Lockdown and Galvatron, but it's entirely possible their designs expose their inner workings, similar to the Dreads, instead of highlighting their vehicle parts in robot mode.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I don't get this at all. The design aesthetic is gross. Some heads look like skinned human faces with facial muscles (gross), some (drift)look like weird over detailed robot faces from like Metropolis (but with no art deco appeal) - and that weird drift beard is like a little patch of brillo wires WTF so weird. And the Hound (Bulkhead) is so weird - the wire beard thing is so stupid and why does he have straps and containers? What are those? Giant places to hold giant water bottles that he can't drink cause he's not human? Prime looks like he's from a different movie than the others. What's the point of doing a reboot if the aesthetics are all over the map and ugly. Yes there are some cleaner shapes, but why not put some recognizable car shapes in there? Bay just has no artistic vision other then how to light stuff and make things explode -he's just a frat boy with too much power. There's no consistency.

Personally (in addition to Ratchet Movie 1, and Prime Movie 1-3) I like Sideswipe from Movie 2 - and Long haul from movie 2.

Sideswipe and Longhaul and even the unicycle guy had some elegance and there was a nice balance of cool clear bulky robot shapes, or sleek robot shapes that also showed you the vehicle parts from whence they came.

It's like they should be designing natural alien robot shapes (in face and body) that organically use what's happening in the vehicle shapes. There SHOULD BE a middle ground between "Too boxy" as Bay had said, and random arbitrary organic shapes that cheat and warp the original vehicles - and almost have nothing to do with the vehicle. I mean Drift and trench coat guy have slick tight shapes, but where are the wheels? the fenders? the windows? It's just like nobody is driving this shit.

It's just SUCH a missed opportunity yet again. Pacific Rim robots were so cool - the form fits the function. In the right hands, like Del Toro, the design of these films could have been so amazing.

All these random visual jokes make me vomit in my mouth (robot beards, robot samurai helmets and armor, super sized giant robot military straps and gear). It makes no sense and looks cheesy stupid dumb wrong yuck.

Sorry if you guys like it (and you are free to). But I love this brand and I have had hope for the movies (from a design stance at least) just weighing in with my opinion. It's just so shitty. Could be SO good. But it sucks. I mean, sure there are little details here and there that look cool - I just wish there was a guiding hand in the design that knows the meaning of the word: APPEAL. And this is just a visual clusterfuck , noise and grossness.

And the Dinobots. The heroic dinobots! Made of scary evil rusty knives. I mean yeah that triceratops is cool - in a design vacuum - but as part of this mythos, why make it that Hr Geiger scary ripoff? Why not do something appealing and original if they're heroic? Grimlock looks like a collapsed skyscraper of knives that was sculpted by god and magnets into the form of a t-rex from jurassic park. That monster makes no visual sense - is utterly unbelievable and not compelling. Other than the fact that it runs and roars, who cares.

I weep inside because this all could look so cool, but it's just a mess to me.

I liked movie 1, suffered through the last 2. I might actually stay home this time. Sad to say, but I just might.

I personally find the more streamlined designs less of a clusterfuck than the car parts jumbled over a humanoid frame. Just my opinion, tho

agree, but it's a balance. Sideswipe Movie 2 - had clean shapes, not jumbled parts - but you saw the car parts and it looked sleek. I just feel like there is no guiding hand. It's not black and white - there should be a middle ground - and consistency.

i've said it once and i'll say it again - the movie toys have my favorite aesthetic of any TFs, because they're not blocky or all the same but unlike the movie CGI have transformation schemes and vehicle parts integrated into the design

I agree and I think that's the problem - some amount of cheating is fine, but the form (design) should follow function (they are transforming robots from vehicles) and that is LITERALLY the whole point - it's the fun. The game, the toys, the whole IP is based on that. And I agree the movie aesthetic is a good goal - just rarely achieved in the best way. Except for some exceptions. Example - how cool is movie 2 megaton's legs. LOVE seeing those tank treads as part of his design. And Movie 1 ratchet is, his chest.

That's my opinion. This movie has no consistency.

Yeah. I was about to say the same thing. The Dinobots have always been primarily gray with gold and red right (or blue in g1 animated for Swoop).

Crosshairs looks too legit! The goggles rock.

I think its cool that lesser known bots like Crosshairs are getting put in the films and re-imagined. It gives something new and exciting to look forward too. The targetmasters were always cool and I think he will be a fun character now.

Dont judge things too harshly. Id honestly love to see Cyclonus, Kup, Tidal Wave and Ultra Magnus in a movie but Im content with all the characters so far. I cant wait to see how they interact in the films. Just enjoy it and take a chill pill :)

Hound looks like he's gonna be a cross between Kup, Bulkhead and Rhinox.

In other words nothing like G1 Hound.

It's just a name. He has absolutely nothing to do with Crosshairs, as you should be able to tell just by looking at him.

It's better than him not getting used at all.
